[ Suggestion ] Report Guestbook Entry

I 100% Back this. You'll know why if you look at pg. 3 of my guestbook. It is very disturbing. I should get aroudn to deleting it.

Yes, but what if that member is no longer active on neoseeker, or never comes on or doesnt look or know how to use his neopms? It would be useful to protect the eyes of young browsing neoseekers.

I like this suggestion but in a different way. Why not have guestbook signings stored and not shown until the member (who recieved the signing) approved it? A report feature could easily be abuse as well since the abuser can report every signing. A store feature would be harder to abuse since the worst thing someone can do is sign it a bunch of time but that can easily be deleted by mass deletion.

I think that that is a good idea! most members wouldn't say to you why haven't you approved my signing because a) chances are you will and b) if you don't then they probably know why you haven't

Yep, a report function is unnecessary. After all if it is that annoying delete it. And if it is in someone else' g-book inform them and let them decide. ~

Like Smoke said why would people sign guestbooks of non-posting memebers unless for deilberate spam? And then explain why ordinary members would then look at these entries?

I don't know about you but I rarely look at other member's g-books and only do when I sign them myself. And I only sign active members or those that were active at the time. And why would you sign/read random guestbooks?

In my opinion, if a young person is smart enough to get on the internet, then he / she is smart and mature enough to handle offensive material. I highly doubt there are children that get traumatized from what they see in Neoseeker guestbooks. Neoseeker.com is a website that is more aimed at those who are older, because of the fact that it is more of a technology site then any thing. The administration should not have to baby sit and make sure there is not any thing that would hurt virgin eyes.

If an offensive entry is SO offensive that it has to be reported, why not delete it? Sounds crazy, but it's so crazy, it just might work.

And if by chance (a chance that is low, by the way) some one signs an offensive entry to an inactive user's guestbook, all that has to be done is a simple NeoPM to an S.MOD with a link.

I guess it would not hurt to have a guestbook queue of some sort for S.MODs to check, but in my opinion I do not think a feature like this is really that urgent.

If you see an offensive guestbook signing, pm a s-mod and quote the guestbook signing in the pm and then one of them can give that member a ban. This probably doesn't happen that often so i think pming a s-mod is the best way to go.
