QFT. Everything. I really agree with the avatar comment. I still think 100 x 100 is too big, and I would prefer something in the 75-80 range, but Hiigs has a great point. IMO I don't see how a big avatar would overshadow anything at all. The most important things to identify someone on the site are their username and avatar (fine, I'm probably not the one to talk about either, but shoo. ). Things like site position tags are below the username so you spot them along with avatars anyway. Join date and post-count are really just details. I don't know how many posts people tend to have because I never look at them (I don't know how many posts I have, haha), and the join date does not matter. Just like I don't see people going apenuts over low post counts anymore like it used to happen. You just see great people doing great posts, lame people doing lame posts, and average people doing average posts. You will always identify these people by their name and avatar. It's not like you will see someone with say, "oh, 20000 posts? That's certainly Hiigaran!". Unless you swapped places with the avatars and usernames, then it would be a big problem imo. As to the second quote, I once directly asked ar_cat if there were any limitations that didn't allow the site to host bigger avatars. Her answer was "no". -------------------

	I've thrown some crude CSS up to convert avatars to 100x100 in this thread. Some will look bad scaled up but it gives a good idea. There's no technical reason why they cannot exceed 65x65, nor are there any concerns on that front with page load times. This is 2012 not 1999 and we understand most people have fast connections now and server storage isn't a concern like it once was. The reason they are as they are now is purely due to style preference. This is gonna come down largely to personal opinion and taste, but I think 65x65 is fine myself. 100x100 is too big imo. 	If we did change the size of avatars, which I'm against, I'd also want to re-orient them. As it stands stylistically I love the balance the avatar has with the text. But if they were to grow, the balance would be off-kilter, as seen now. If we do this I'd reorient the picture up top since, it now is the overwhelming identifier of the user and perhaps make an effort to center it and make it look clean. 	If you're gonna go and do this, a bit of consideration should be used. You have to make the change subtle and not too in-your-face to the general population, no wonder people are talking about the avatar 'overwhelming' everything else. I support at about 75-80 max.

	If this were implemented, I'd like the ability to choose what size the avatar is and not have it automatically re-scaled to the new maximum.

	A lot of members(or at least, most of those who've posted in this thread) seem to cap at about three/four icons under the avatar, and considering the border on the 85x85 avatars pretty much tie in with the icons' row length, I think it should be raised to max 85.
