account [Suggestion] Increase Avatar Dimensions

Please no. We're not a ProBoards or some random phpBB forum. I wouldn't be opposed to this in your activity log, but I think it would look tacky anywhere else.

out of curiosity, a few people in the past have brought up the point that what you may see on your screen, might be different to what another person sees on their screen, and as such different people will see different things, because the dimensions of the images are in pixels. why not have it so they are displayed in percentage? that entire section is in a div class, so it should be a matter of setting the image element of the class to have a certain width and height, perhaps a max-width/height.

the problem is that as our resolutions get bigger and bigger, everything we see gets smaller and smaller, if absolute values are used. keep it like this and people just going to complain more and more about the size, than they would if everything was in percentage.

for me, its either way, regarding larger avvies. its not something i care about, but i dont see why people have a problem with allowing the maximum dimensions to be larger. gone are the days of 1284*768. screens are becoming more and more commonly set to 1680*1050 and beyond. at the smaller resolution, a 65*65 avvy would take up about 5% of your screen. at 1680*1050, its 3.8%, so it looks smaller.

actually, bugger it, im in support. how long are we going to stay using tiny images?

I think hiigaran makes a very valid point. I'm personally using 1080 monitors all the time now with broadband internet, there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to see bigger graphics on my screen. Perhaps a scaling option like hiig suggested would be ideal if you still want to cater to the archaic PC user market?

lol of course it wouldn't look good if you upsize a 65x65 graphic to 100x100.

100 x 100 is too big. But I'm all for avatars in the 75 x 75 - 80 x 80 range.

I'll admit, it actually looks a bit better 100x100.

can you at least give a reason? i dont understand whats not to like about it.
