[ReQuest] Allow picture-only replies

Loungin's rules and regulations state this:

Many other forums also have this kind of rule. The one problem I have with this is that it doesn't permit the use of pictures with text in them as a valid reply. I've had a few posts deleted because of this rule, and I don't really see why.

When I post a picture with text in it and it gets deleted, that's basically telling me that it's not okay to voice an opinion if the opinion itself is located on an image.

Unless the image I post contains a short, unneeded phrase like "lol," then I don't see how posting a picture with text can qualify as not adding something useful to the thread. If a picture reply gets deleted, all I have to do is take the text that was in the image, type it out in the comment field, hit reply, and "Bam!" Magically, it is no longer spam?

I really think this rule is flawed and should put more emphasis on pictures which are unrelated to the topic, than images with text in them that actually add to the discussion value.

After all, a picture's worth a thousand words. And if it has text in it, it is obviously worth more than that and is therefor superior to other images that don't have text.

You'd probably get further taking this up individually with moderators that implement the rule. This isn't something that's in the sitewide rules so you're extremely unlikely to get any kind of super or admin intervention.

Moderators typically implement local rules based on events in their forum. You can debate the merits of them sure, but sparking the conversation away from them probably isn't going to make any steps towards any kind of resolution.

This one will have to be a forum moderator's call. There are just too many different situations involving visual reply media to try and come up with a blanket site-wide policy that would work. It might even go so far as becoming a case-by-case scenario.

I don't have the authority to say yes or no to this as a final answer, but I believe that almost all of the Supers and Admins will agree that this needs to be handled within the specific forum.
