Like I said, establish yourself as a good potential moderator, and we'll get in touch with you when a position opens with you being the best option.

At this point in time though, being a member of the site for just shy of three months with just under sixty posts really doesn't do much to establish you as an experienced member or candidate that the supermod team would feel confident in at present.

In the future, who knows?

And for the record while Poke Trading might be busy, we tend to place a team of capable mods there, none of which at present are requesting the need for another member to there team.

While a user's past history is certainly taken into consideration, a ban does not necessarily preclude someone from ever becoming a moderator here.

All non-permanent bans are issued with the intention of making it abundantly clear to the user that their behavior is not acceptable here and they need to change it in order to continue being allowed to participate. We recognize that reform is possible and most bans are intended to act as a catalyst to exactly that.

A user who has formerly been banned but proven over an appropriate period of time that their negative behavior is in their past and they're now a positive contributor isn't likely to have a previous infraction influencing the decision too heavily. That does depend on the circumstances, severity and nature of the former offenses, however.

There are a handful of moderators here who have been banned in the past, some even permanently a long time ago before being permitted back and eventually attaining a mod spot. Those are the most extreme examples and it's very rare that this happens in the normal course of events, however.

So yeah to summarize, no being banned in the past doesn't stop you but it's obviously better if your record is completely clean.

I have no idea where else to ask this, but why was Shane demoted? Did he leave or is he just inactive? Kinda curious.
