Hello everyone.
The current method of promoting moderators has been in place for some years now. This current selection process has been by far the most efficient, least stressful, and most manageable system of the last several years. Those are many positives, but a negative is that it removed any real sense of community involvement in the process. What we'd like to do is bring a part of that back. So what we would like is for you, the Neoseeker community, to bring to our attention forums which need or could benefit from having a moderator put into place.
Do suggest:
- Forums that have some activity but no moderator
- Forums for a game or game series that typically generate a lot of activity
- Forums for a game that you feel could have a better community with a moderator to organise the forum
Don't suggest:
- Forums that already have moderators
- Forums that have a high PPD and no moderator (Supermods will already know about these)
- Moderator(s) for a forum; this is for suggesting forums that need moderators, not someone who you think would be a good moderator
There's no 15 PPD lower limit and there's no definite amount that makes a forum "high" ppd or anything like that, just use some common sense. For example a forum that was only made one day ago is not going to need a moderator right away. This extension of the moderator selection process will function similar to the Complaints and Reports forum. Anyone can post to the forum, but only those who will be reviewing suggestions will be able to read the threads; this will be the supermod team and the
category moderators.
There's no timeframe on promoting anyone to a forum nor a requirement that we have to put someone in just because the forum has been suggested. This process ideally needs to be flexible to fit the range of forums we have on the site and setting deadlines and restrictions puts in limitations that don't really need to be there. One of the biggest time drains of the old MR system was having to constantly reply to queries about things and it's not something we'd like to revive so please do not send in queries about how the forum you suggested is getting along, the request will have been seen but you'll know whether or not your forum has got a moderator if/when they get promoted.
That said, clicking
this link will allow you to construct a post to be reviewed. All we need is a link to the forum itself in the post and the name of the forum in the title, that is all. Please remember that this isn't an avenue to suggest or recommend a moderator candidate. It is merely a way of suggesting a forum you feel could benefit from having a moderator. Any extra text in the post will just be ignored.
If you have any queries, feel free to ask them in the latest edition of the Moderator Selection Q/A which can always be found stickied in this forum. Make sure to read the first post of that thread before posting as that too has undergone a change!
Thanks!
