That is a very nice retro theme. They go very good together. The shadows show up very nice. It almost seems practical to place these in a row if you are going to add them.

Yeah not loving the yellow so much. The idea of rainbow color smilies for no reason doesn't appeal to me. Sticking with colors that are already used but just to a lesser extent seems like a good idea.



Some of them do have a logical color though. The cool and sad ones being blue, the mad and embarased ones being red, and happy colors being yellow all make sense. If anything green and brown are underused as colors in the current smilies. Unless you are smiling, I don't see the need to use yellow for any of the smilies. There are just so many ones that smile that it makes logical sense to have yellow = smile.

That won't work either. The difference is very subtle, but you still can't see the whites.

So, I have instead used the same colors that Neo already has to convey the same emotions like GuardianReaver has suggested. However, there are some emotions that Neo hasn't provided a color yet, and so I'll need you help. So far, I have made different versions for the smilies and I've made new ones too to have a bit of variety. So, here we go.

First, let's get rid of the ones that are set in stone with the color change. The only difference in these two are the sweat drop, and that's it.

As you can see, the only difference between the two is that the sweatdrop is more redefined on one of them than the other. I only did so in case Neo has a strict 15x15 policy. I hope not.

The following two I used Neo's colors based on Emoticons that are set in stone.

Only difference here is that one of them uses the color from the 1st Gen smileys and the other uses the shade color from the 2nd Gen smileys.

XD: or or

1st one is the same as the original but the color was changed to yellow. The 2nd has the face a bit more constricted, to give it a bit more of an "XD" feel. Then the last one is animated in case we want another animated laughing smiley.

The following two I just made for the sake of making.

I am going to need to make new colors or use existing colors for the "Bored", ":S", and "=\" smileys. I can't come up with anything at the moment. Any input?

That one is from Deviant Art, it's called "Yum" but it's also their "" smiley. I always thought it was pretty funny looking, so I made a Neo version of it.

I agree with Oblisk with the OMG and ^^' but I also like the Oh Noes! and the Angry on the left.

Furthermore, I LOVE Silenced pastel-coloured profile icons. ^^

@Lesley Pro_04: The problem with those smilies, though, is that they belong to other people/boards. Neo can't just use smilies that belong to someone else. :/

Still no thinking smilie. I am certain I could get some use out of it.

In my opinion, Neoseeker needs original smilies -- not the ones you get off free smiley sites.
