[Suggestion] Save threads ready for upload?

Hello.

Just a suggestion: Why don't we have an option to save our threads ready for upload at a certain date? Maybe keep it in my.neoforum?

why?
Because, say, if it was a clan thread, you could have a specific update, so if you were to organize a tournament, you could do the official tournament thread, and have it scheduled to upload on the tournament day.

re: [Suggestion] Save threads ready for upload?

and making a thread manually is a problem because...?

also, define the 'day'. we are members from around the world, so everyones 'day' times are different.

re: [Suggestion] Save threads ready for upload?

I know you could manually make the thread, but a.) it looks more professional (I personally think), and b.) you can save a whole lot of time. I just thought it would be a nice useful touch to Neo.

re: [Suggestion] Save threads ready for upload?

it could possibly save time, but the potential this has is so little. i dont see how it would look more professional though.

this is one of those 'maybe' things. there isnt anything to it that is significantly bad, but its not like it has much use either.

Problem is, take for instance Christmasday, if people they make a Christmas thread about saying "Merry Christmas" and througout the course of the year people put it for awiting upload, then we're going to get hundreds of threads all about the same thing.

re: [Suggestion] Save threads ready for upload?

lets not forget the massive potential for spammers. make 20 of these threads all scheduled for appearing at the same time, and BOOM, you got yourself a spamfest. youd need a new moderation system to help alleviate that problem. much the same way as there is a moderation queue, there would be an upload queue which only mods would be able to see, and the OP of course. there is more work involved in this than it seems.

Took the words out of my mouth, you can spam threads at ease. And how would you set the time and date and ect. if they're multiple timezones, how would we manage to control it?

    I was thinking this.
How about a "draft" option like on blogs where you can save messages and manually submit them when you want?

as long as it isnt made in a way that a spamming spree could occur, then i dont see the problem with it.

NAMFox can do that. Use NAMFox if you want custom messages.

What? I think Benedict means the typical blog feature where you can save a draft to the database and when you come back the next day, or later, you can edit the draft and save it again or submit it...not what NAMFox does.

Oh dang, what the hell was I thinking.

Sorry... late night post and all.

I didn't realise that the OP was proposing automatic thread posting or that Bendict was talking about blogs.
