 Topic: Moderator Tags: Should they display outside of the moderator's forum?

I was just thinking, does anyone have experience with one or more instance(s) where a moderator has been placed at an unfair advantage in a judgment call, or when their opinion has been considered superior to another member's, simply because they have the "moderator" tag under their name? Does it basically place them at an unfair "advantage" on the discussion boards at large? I really don't know if it's an issue at all, but I was a little curious.

It's not like moderator tags are given to completely ignorant and irrational people. They do still have some merit behind them in and out of the forum. They were selected to moderate a forum because the supers observe them to be respectable and rational members of the Neoseeker community.
Yes I have seen favoritism towards mods in many cases but it's not a reason to take away their tags. I remember seeing Superfast Oz being a super and having a forum under his name called Darkfall. It got me curious and had me venture to that forum and ultimately got me interested in following the game. Granted I never did actually play it because of the long delays but the links to their forums do serve as free advertisement among the site. -------------------  | |

This forum might be a better place if it's a suggestion.
Really you earn your respect around here. I was at least reasonably respected before I became a mod, and am still reasonably respected after demoting. The red tags don't have much effect on how much a person is respected, and there are several people with moderator status that are not as well respected as others simply because their forum behavior is not as respectable as others are. ------------------- | |

I think it's cool to have the tag display everywhere. It's recognition of the work moderators do.

Mmmkay. I wasn't seriously concerned about it, it was just a thought that popped into my head. I think I agree that it's not really an issue.
