[Suggestion] DS Friend Code Integration

I know that this suggestion has been made, but I couldn't find it when I searched for it (loving the new feature Red ) and it's not in the index.

I would love to see some kind of section in our profiles for DS friend codes. I think something similar to the Wii Profiles would work beautifully. If you have games added to your "DS Games Owned" section, you can add your friend code for that game and have it displayed on your DS Profile page.

Similarly, I think that friend codes for Wii games should be added to your Wii Profile. Right now it's only the Wii System Code, which is only good for sending messages. Having all of your Wii Friend codes would be very handy.

Anyway, I support this idea. It would save asking for every friend code, just look at there profile if its in there.

Basically it would be a small snippet in your profile like the Wii Profile link is. Once you click on the link it would take you to your DS Profile Page and it would display all of your information.

Was hoping to get some more feedback on this. I think having a page for all your DS friend codes would be very helpful. I know there's not the system code like for the Wii, but I still think there is merit to having a page for all your DS friend codes.

Well, I was envisioning a page attached to your profile that would display all of the WiFi enabled games that were placed on your owned games list. You could then add your friend code to that game within your DS Profile page, and it would be displayed underneath that game title.

As I was thinking about the idea I just mentioned, I had another idea that's slightly different. Maybe you could submit your Friend Code to the profile of that game, and it would be displayed in a list attached to that games profile along with everyone else that submitted theirs? That might be to chaotic, but just another approach to this idea.

The tough part here is that you have a different code for every WiFi game instead of one ID like you do for consoles. That was a stupid move on Nintendo's part, but that's a different discussion entirely. If this were to be done, it'd have to be through the game profiles like Tainted said, as the information is different. Perhaps they could show up in the Own/Want list in the comments field.

This would be nice to have in later iterations of the own/want system as an additional detail field for Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS titles. As I understand both users need to add each other's codes before it works. Would it be beneficial to have an "I've added you" button that NeoPMs the member notifying them and autofills your own friend code at the same time? Are there any other details required or is the code itself sufficient?

A few members have complained about the amount of folks personal messaging them for their friend codes, I'd hope that this would be one of those features which would be well used by the Nintendo posters on the site.

That is a really cool idea. As for needing extra information, it really varies by game. Most of it is superfluous, so I think just the code is sufficient.
