	I haven't seen the Circuit City ad yet, but thank you for getting rid of the other ones. I didn't get them during the first wave, but they were really, really annoying. <3Redemption.

	Well, don't thank me yet everyone. I just got off the phone with our ad agency and I have some bad news and I'm hoping for some understanding. These annoying ads apparently account for 40% of our revenue in the entire month of May from the Agency, so taking them off completely hurts us significantly. It's so bad that we cannot afford to take them off completely, therefore I've authorized them to show the ad, BUT with a 24hr cap on the ad so that it won't show more than 5 times a day to each user. I'm sorry about this everyone, but we have to pay bills and May has been a tough month for everyone. I think this is more of an exception to the rule than the norm, and I've also given the agency a bunch of suggestions for the future to reduce the intrusiveness of ads like this. Again, I hope for your understanding - I was willing to do away with the ads even if it hurt us, but the AMOUNT it hurts us is just too much, and certainly not survivable. Just so you know, even if we run the ads, due to the 5 per day cap its likely we will lose alot of money. The difference is that we lose less. 	I can live with 5 times a day. Perhaps even 24 times a day if need be, once an hour. It was the 90 times an hour or on every refresh that was bothering me more than the actual ad itself. We fully understand that advertising is part of the sites revenue. And we are happy to accept whatever advertising you want to use. 	I have an update on this story. We're trying to find out whether the Circuit City and XM Radio ads being reported by users is part of this campaign. We also determined that the 5x a day might not have been working completely as expected and that's been tweaked, so sometime later today that should improve IF you have been having problems where the ads have been showing up more than 5x per day. 	When you say "drop them" do you mean the in-thread ads altogether, or just the ones in question that are being reported as problematic? I haven't had any of the issues presented in this thread (I use FF), but if the other ads that didn't bring in as much revenue as the pop up ads were to stay, I'd personally be fine with that. 	Might I also add that if you refresh the page then say switch to a MSN convo(for example) It still shows up? Over the MSN convo? Then you have to go back to the internet where it spawn'd and click the window to get it to go away. ------------------- Who will survive?

	It's annoying, but if it's helping to keep Neoseeker up and running I can live with it for a month. It's not like they're IMPOSSIBLE to get around. They may be aggravating but the way some of you were carrying on it was as though you could never surf the site again with these ads appearing. It wasn't really the ad itself that was the real problem but rather the fact that IE somehow got stuck on it and showed the same ad on every page and every refresh. Meaning no matter where you went on Neo it was there. Popping in no matter what you did to try and stop it. A couple times a day even once an hour meh no big deal. 	I'm not really sure if this is related or not, but I just got the expanding Circuit City add on the main page. The same add was at the top of my.neoforum even through a few refreshes except that it wouldn't expand. When I moved my mouse over it, it flashed as if it was trying to expand...but then it went back to normal size. And actually, it's at the top of this reply screen as I type this too(same thing though, it seems to only expand on the main page). FF2.0 ------------------- Union Pride
