[Suggestion] Change linking tags

My suggestion is to change the named link tags from

code

[link name=WORDS]URL[/link], to simply [link=WORDS]URL[/link].

Pretty simple all things considered.

It would be a good suggestion if we didn't have the 'link name=' button.

It would only be useful if people didnt use the buttons and typed instead.

Which I do because despite the rather long length, it ends up being quicker for me since I just use Ctrl + V for pasting anyways.

There are times when people might be putting out the code on word before putting it onto the forum, I did it a few times before I switched over to NamFox which let me save messages.

For the sake of simplicity it would be nice if you could just use [link=] as well as the normal code of [link name=][/link].

I like this idea. It is not inherently necessary, but it is a lot like using:

Both of which result in this of course:

I don't support. There is already the [link name=][/link] with or without NAMFox. There really is no need to shorten it, since we really don't have to type it out.

The buttons don't always work for me, due to my JavaScript dieing out, and sometimes it doesn't work at all.

Then I have to type it out.

Actually, when I double click on my posts to edit them, I have no buttons to click, and when I'm updating the Thread Index at IE, having less to type would always be a bonus.

And it's troublesome when you are typing on a PS3, Cell Phone, Wii, DS and PSP, since they don't usually come with Java, the buttons don't work, so that short tags would be less stressful on them as well.

First, how many people need to update thread index's though. You can also just hit edit.

Second, how many people don't use computers or laptops when on neo that it would make a difference.

You have no reason to not support. There's absolutely no downsides to this.

I have a reason. As i have said before, there is a button we can just all press for this, so there's really no need to shorten it. I can see why the quote was shortened, since there was a lot to type out. But for this, you only need to type a space and 4 extra letters, which are right next to each other on the keyboard.

Buttons don't work for everybody, as previously stated. It would be quite helpful when NAMFox quick editing because the buttons don't appear, and even when they do, I tend to just type them out anyway because I don't like to keep switching between the mouse and the keyboard. There are no downsides other than the initial programming, so I fully support.

The phrasing is more natural as it stands now. If you say "link=___" you expect the link to follow. If you say "link name=_____" you expect the link name to follow.

If anything, the two fields should be swapped to better reflect the HTML style of linking:
