1-~*Intro*~
Hello all! you can call me Zac! I have had Zoo Tycoon: Complete Collection since around late 2005 for Christmas (That’s also when I got my first Computer!) I have since made over 100 zoos, sadly clogging up my computer, so I have deleted all the non-meaningful ones. The end of this guide will have an FAQ too! But enough of that! On with the guide!
2-~* Main Menu and Game Basics*~
So you are in the beginning of your zoo career, right? Install you game, considering you have this in a disk. Start up your game, Click “Freeform” Now, as you have probably seen, There are scenarios, and tutorials, well, for now the tutorials aren’t that important considering I am acting as your tutorial, right? Scenarios are like a challenge to make a good zoo with certain objectives, something for people that like a challenge. Sadly, I have never done many scenarios because they bore me to death. The Credits are for people…who..want to see the credits…I guess. There is a downloads button, where if you have internet you can get exclusive items for the game! Now lets get back into the freeform. In this, you can start a zoo where you can do what you want, with no real objectives. I suggest you start out in a basic grass map, and save the harder areas for when you’re more pro. I have never used many more different maps than basic ones. So, you’re now in a zoo, where you’re completely free to do whatever! Right?
I suggest you start out with an easy, low-cost animal to get your zoo started. Zebras, lions, wild horses, these are what I mainly start out with. After you get some people in your zoo, you’ll want to get some basic buildings in your zoo for peeps to use! A few restrooms, a snack and drink vending machine, a few trash cans, and a few tables/chairs are what I start out with! Next, I will be talking about shortcut keys.
3-~*Shortcut Keys*~
Instead of clicking to get your way around the building tab and all that stuff, here are some quickies to get around!
B=The building tab, food stands, chairs, ETC.
C=The landscaping tab. Rocks, trees, terrain, ETC.
Space Bar=Pauses your game. Stops in-game time from moving, good in-case you need to quickly use the bathroom or something.
S=Staff List. This will bring you to the tab at the bottom that shows staff you have hired, maintenance workers, zookeepers, ETC.
E=Exhibit List. Shows all exhibits you have.
R=Research and Conservation. You can pay for research and conservation to unlock new things in-game
G=Guest List. Shows Guests in your zoo and shows what guests are tired, hungry, thirsty ETC.
Z=Zoo. It brings you to where you can see zoo funds, the cost of getting in your zoo, and the zoo rating.
D=Animals. Brings you to the tab where you can buy animals.
H=Staff Hiring Tab. Brings you to the tab where you can hire staff for your zoo.
These are all the shortcuts I know of! Notify me if you find any more!
4-~*Peeps (Guests)*~
Aren’t you tired of having stupid guests who are never happy? I sure was! I still have never figured out the BEST way to make everyone happy.
Guests need food, drink, sitting areas, restrooms, and happiness! Around high-traffic areas, make eating areas! This cuts down the number of guests with needs majorly! Make sure you have benches, restrooms, and trash cans too! Around most exhibits, I have tables lining them, restrooms lining them, and vending machines. You can never ever make everyone happy, you will always have some mad people, some hungry, some thirsty, ETC. This is all of my basic knowledge of guests!
5-~*Animals*~
Want to make your animals happy? Here are some tips!
-Usually have the same number of zookeepers, or more, than the amount of exhibits you have.
-Use the Zookeeper/Marine Specialist/Scientist guide to make animals happy!
-For tanks, keep tank filters connected to keep the water clean!
-Don’t keep buildings -besides animal shelters-, in an exhibit (DUUHHH!)
That’s all I have in basics for animals!
6-~*Scenery*~
Here are some tips for a beautiful zoo!
-Line paths with flowers!
-Put some nice trees around eating areas!
-Add fountains, statues, and bush cut-outs as decorative stuff! Don’t overdo it though!
-Don’t have THAT many trash cans or else it will be UGLEH!
That’s all I have for this topic!
7-~*Tips ‘n Tricks*~
Here are some cheats, hints, tips, and tricks for this game!
Press and hold shift and 4 at the same time to get TONS of money!
Name a guest Akiyama to unlock all scenarios
Name a tour guide Rosalie and you won’t have to pay your tour guides, They’ll work for FREEEEE!!
Name an exhibit Wonderland to get more peeps in your zoo!
Name an exhibit Xanadu to unlock the animal, Unicorn! SWEET!
Name a guest Alfred H and everyone will start running and screaming like they saw a ghost! NOTE: Guests will run and scream out of your zoo, so if it’s a good zoo, don’t destroy it like that!
Name a guest Steve Serafino to unlock all animals (Not sure yet if this works 100%)
8-~*FAQ*~
