Alone in the dark a new nightmare. i'm stuck HELP!!!

okay i'm in the hexagonal room/library and i've found the books around the room that you have to push. is there a sequence to these or is there something i need to have done, or collected before i attempt this any further i've killed everything there is to kill and there was a bust in the main room of the house at the bottom of the stair case i have'nt been able to do that is there a connection to this and the library, or again do i need to collect or do something in order to do this. HELP!!!

Yes, there's a specific order that you must push the books in to get a secret door to open up. Remember that memo you read that talked about the layout of the library? There's a clue typed out in red ink that says "Light, Darkness, Darkness, Light. Light means the top floor of the library and dark means the ground floor. This is where you'll find the books. Go to the third floor landing and push the first book, go back down to the ground floor and push the next two, then head back up to the landing. On your way to pushing the fourth book though, you will be attacked by a flying bird-lizard.
