I only just got this and have played up to where you fight the first battle as a demon, and i must say i really enjoy it.

the graphics and story are both very good, but i am a little bit worried about the turn based gameplay... hopefully it wont be to bad, it seems fast enough so far.

i like it have you gotten to the fuse part where you can fuse to demons it's cool

badass game, its nice to see one of the Shin Megami games finally made it over state side[The Persona spin offs sucked IMO] and the Digital Devil Saga Spin off is coming soon too...drool....

I like the demonic theme but the game gets repetitive way too fast. After a couple of hours or so, you'll feel the boredom

I like the way its an original game in every sense, especially with the tone and the environment and the recruiting demons, but the battle system is TOO repetitive, im bored as hell fighting over and over and over (i have it on hard so about every 10-15 steps is another fight).

Plus the game itself never really captures you into the games feeling kinda like the way the FFs do with the world and the characters. I love it though, and the stories really innovative and shit and its a new twist on everything, but the fighting is just too goddam boring.

i love the game myself. All thought im stuck in Ikeburo at the moment trying to beat dante. Any tips?

Have a demon that can use Media(heals all party members) and one who can use Tarukaja(raises physical attacks) ingest you physical Magatama, and have one other heavy hitter on your team... Then just keep attacking with your main character and your heavy hitter, and you can also attack with the others when their spells are not needed... So just attack and heal, he ain't really that hard.

I like the game. It is pretty hard for an rpg. I've seen those darn angels a ton now. Getting closer to the end kinda...

The game is great. With its originality and dark storyline, it really does stand out in the crowd of cliché RPG's that has formed these past few years on the PS2. However, I would say that this game is a bit too highly reviewed, as the review I read had stated little about the repetitiveness of the battle system. I do not regret buying this game, I had just wished they put more depth in the battle system.

I will be giving a full review of this game eventually.

uggg ive had this game for a while and reptitive only begins to describe it... it totally ruins the game how many battles you are forced to endure. at least they are quick.

i also dislike critical choices... i dont want to have to play a game 10 times to fully understand it.

one thing i love is the graphics. the monsters continually get cooler

I've been looking at screenshots... is this game cell shaded? It looks sort of like it could be, but at other times it doesn't. I'm thinking of buying it... is it worth the purchase price?

I Really Enjoy this game it is acctualy very fun! The Graphics are good and so is the gameplay for me. I like how you can talk to monsters and let them join you and they can be your allie.

well,I can say I remember good ol' days when I played Persona..
this game is great,music rocks.gameplay is fun.talkin to demons is cool.and at last we can enjoy a Shin megami tensei game with great graphics.

It isn't cell shaded. The graphics are just a stylish 3-D that somewhat immitates the look of cell shading. When I saw my first screenshots, I thought it might have been cell shaded as well.

As for the second question, I think so. I'm not done with the game yet, but I'm very close and yet I have only a little over 50% of the demon index. Some people here seem to think that the gameplay gets dull, but I find it incredibly addictive and challenging. It also has the great replay value of six endings and multiple side quests, mini-games, secret cut scenes, and tons of fusion possibilities, all discovered by chance. I'd recommend this game in a heartbeat to any RPG fan.
