Which of these systems did you enjoy more? Which one do you think had the better games? The better graphics? Discuss and debate the issue, as well as compare and contrast the systems here.

I personally got a Sega Genesis around that time because Sonic was way cool and it had X Men, which I had a freaky addiction with. When I finally sold it it was to get a Nintendo 64 though so in the end Nintendo won.

SNES was better, it just had better, funner games. My best friend had a Genesis, but most of the time we were at my place playing SNES.
BTW: Sonic Flash, I had a kick ass X-Men game for SNES, X-Men Mutant Apocalypse ------------------- ![]()

Super Nintendo is better than Sega Genesis. All it had was Sonic, while SNES had a bunch of great games.

I would choose the SNES, as i think it had better games, than the Genesis'. And mainly because i had the SNES before the Genesis and throughly enjoyed it more.

quote I MOTHER EARTHGenesis had X Men which featured a Wolverine that actually went beserk when you had his claws out for too long and a Nightcrawler that could literally teleport though the entire level, and the second one was equally neat. My namesake doesn't exactly come from a Super NES either. ^_-

I would choose Super Nintendo, since it has most of my favourite RPGs: Super Mario RPG:Legend of the seven stars, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, etc.

quote EurekaI'm going to agree with you there, Eureka - the Genesis seemed to lack a bit in the games department. Although it had a lot of great games, they were nothing compared to some of the stuff that the SNES offered. In my opinion, they really aren't even in the same league - it's SNES all the way.

SNES all the way. not only do they have games that are as of now pretty much everlasting on its impact, it's also got probably the best controller design ever. Definitely the best controller design of any nintendo system.

Hmmm...
I like both systems equally. I got my Genesis first, and really liked it alot. Seems like Genesis had more great arcade style beat'em up games than SNES did. Like Golden Axe, Altered Beast, and The Streets of Rage series. And of course there was the Sonic series. But then I got my SNES and got hooked on adventure/role playing style games like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and later Chrono Trigger. Both systems had all the same fighting games from the fighter craze of the early to mid 90's. I don't really think one system had better graphics than the other. Both systems had great games and I liked that each system had its own kind of style. All in all I can't really say that either one was better than the other in any major way. They are both classic systems with many memorable and innovative games. ------------------- ![]() "Ok, Michael Jackson didn't come over to my house to use the bathroom. They're both good!
The Genesis had the superb Streets Of Rage series which was superior to the equivalent Final Fight series on the SNES, Capcom gave you two Street Fighter games for the price of one with the Special Championship Edition game: Turbo & Hyper Fighting. The SNES gave you Starfox, The Genesis gave you Virtua Racing. SNES - Mario, Link etc. GENESIS - Sonic, Road Rash, Chuck Rock, Xmen etc. I thought the music was very weedy on the SNES but it was more vibrant graphically compared to the Genesis. Yes, the SNES had a bigger selection of games but of the third party games that was aqquired for the Genesis, they could hold their own. It's hard to say nowadays whether Sega has chickened out now that they are no longer making consoles. I think not... now they have the time and resources to make bigger and better games. This debate is as old as the Sonic Vs Mario one in the Gamecube forum, accept it, they're both as good as each other!

The Sega was faster, and had better sound. The SNES wins all other categories, but I still prefer my JVC X-eye.

For me, the SNES is best, but just by a little bit. Both were amazing systems that I love dearly and still play very often. The Sonic games and the Mario games both kickass!
