General Discussion 1: Thank you for arousing me

I know I could be posting in the Classic Gamers Forum but no god damn it I want to post in the General Nintendo Classics forum.

There is far to little conversation in this forum hell the last post is 2008 thats two years ago this post, I am sure, will die but I am in a trying mood so I am going to try

I picked up Chrono Trigger Ds the other day for 15 dollars on e-bay, Bargain I say.I had always wanted to play Chrono Trigger but was never fortunate to own it so this port is a blessing for me. Now if they would just do this to terranigma....I would be pissed.

I think if anyone was to take my beloved Terranigma and add touch controls, new dungeons and such I would be quite angry. Sure a whole new generation of gamers would be able to enjoy it but I just don't like the idea of editing my favorite classic in however small a way.

Anyone who played Chrono and loved it as a kid feel the same way about it?

On a side note I just dropped my wii on my prince of persia snes cart and cracked it. *bleep* what was it doing on the ground. I'm crushed =(

Made this in Photoshop using some sprites I downloaded. Most are from popular Snes Jrpg's. Not great but just something to fill the immeasurable amounts of free time I seem to have these days.

Something General Classic Nintendo related for this edit: There has been a fair bit of controversy surrounding Roms and Emulators of older systems including the Snes. I have had pms from people arguing that these games have become freeware and are now legal to download. Also from people who say if you own the game you can legally download a backup rom.

Sooooo what do you know about the old Nintendo Systems?

Honetsly they really don't unless it is roms for the ds or wii iso's as long as you stick to the old games they do not care at all. I just had an argument with some guy who took 20 or so pm's swearing at me saying I was wrong so I decided to post that there just in case he came back ha ha

Thanks for the praise ha ah took a few minutes in photoshot just adding sprites from all my favorite games =) I like how it looked so I added it up here.

I never got to play Chrono as a kid unfortunately =( not sure why I missed it when I managed to get most of the epic rpg's of the era. I loved the ds port and played it from start to finish basically in 1 sitting. Such an amazing game Definitely my second favorite snes game thus far.

It's really not a big deal nothing bad comes of it and honestly I like that it allows people to enjoy old games that cannot afford the hefty price for them nowadays. We shouldn't be discussing it on Neo so I will leave it there.

Getting to play classic games as a kid I think is something no one should miss out on. You see all the ten year olds on xbox live now with head sets playing Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2 and they grow up thinking these are good games

Yeah it's a shame because games like these have stories that you never see in modern day games and I think if gamers experience these types of games first they would be less likely to covet and love the drivel that is passed as story in most modern day games.

One of the only classic games I think I've played (Classic refers to NES, SNES, right? Not Nintendo 64?) is one of the old, old Super Mario games, I played it when I was about 5 and I loved it (even though I sucked at it ), nowadays there's kids yapping about Super Mario Galaxy and whatnot...

Like, recently I met a kid who thought that Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is a stand alone game, I was shocked.

I remember playing Zelda Oracle of Ages on gameboy, I guess most kids these days don't even know what a gameboy IS, let alone own one. I still have my gameboy pocket and my gameboy colour, I remember going to the store with my dad when I was little and getting it and Pokemon Blue... Good times...

Don't get me wrong, I like some of the new games, Oblivion for example, but it would be nice if kids had some respect for the older games as well, the games that CREATED the concept of "RPG" and "FPS".

I really liked OoA, simply because of the shovel and that blue kangaroo thing, mind you I was like six.

I still play Pokemon Yellow (I have the Special Pikachu edition ), I use Pikachu, Hypno, and a Primeape.

I liked being able to talk to Pikachu, I'm glad they brought this back for HG/SS.

I remember taking my gameboy and my link cable to school and kicking all my little friend's asses
