As far as I know there were no test beds for
the A-12 Dirito, only some models and sketches
is all that ever became of it.I heard that
mentioned on an episode of Wings on Discovery
some years ago.

What aircraft could be called "The crescent winged avenger?"

What helicopter established a new world record for the
longest time airborne on an operational mission?

woah I thought the A12 was the inteceptor version of the 71 but apparently I'm wronge

I want to say the longest publicly known fight for a helicopter was done by the MH-47 with inflight refueling prob.

The A-12 was the predecessor to both the SR-71 and YF-12 (The interceptor variation of the A-12). The military needs to fix their way of designating aircraft. Note: this is not an answer to any particular question.

re: Aircraft Trivia!

The A-12 in the picture that Tank posted was to be
the replacement aircraft for the A-6E Intruder
and possibly the Air Force's FB-111 fleet.

re: Aircraft Trivia!

The early version of the SR-71 was called the A-12. A-12 was also the designation given to a proposed Navy stealth bomber.

For more info on the A-12 click here.

There are some cool pictures of a full scale mock-up on display.

Is it the SH-3 during the Vietnam war?

In 1975 several companies had submitted proposals for a stealth aircraft. What company submitted this design:

Sea King.
