Best Battle System

I quite like FF13 and FF10's battle systems. FF13's had quite a few disadvantages and was pretty complicated at times. FF10's was straightforward and easy to use.

I liked 12 personally, but I didn't like you need points for hats. It was like "Lol wut." I kinda liked 3 as well, but they made that game wwwwaaaaay to easy for bosses.

I liked the spirit of XIII's battle system, but the freedom initially promised by the Crystarium(Sp?) didn't end up being the case as each character only has true access to 50% of the classes. I also wasn't a fan of only controlling one character and having to sort of auto the combat portion with my only real influence on the battle being Summons/items/Paradigm Shifts.

My favorite customization setup was definitely the Materia from 7, but I do think X did a better job at the actual battle portion of the game.

FF12 Battle System.

- It allows player to utilize any combat strategy without constraints(like FF13)
- Gambit system allows player to think and harness strategy ahead of the battle
- Flexibility, player can change character / equipment / Gambit system EVEN in any given battles (This is perhaps FF12's greatest merit)
- The MOST MAKE SENSE Gameover condition (All player in the party dies)
- Freedom to choose between Manual or Gambit option
- Quick and easy battle engagement as well as escapism (no crashing screen, button holding for escape probabitlity and best of all random encounter elimination)

Your right, how come that the other members of the party dont Help the ones KOd.

My favorite is FFX since evolved the classic turn based system in the right direction and the sphere Grid is just awesome.

I have to agree with this post. FFX is my favorite by far.

Is the best by Far

I totally agree with Kratoscar2011, FFX was the best battle system by far, The best thing I thought about this system was you could have characters gain OTHER characters abilities by moving within there grid. The possibilities were simply endless. Wish Square would use this system again.

I also believe that when Final Fantasy Versus XIII comes out (if it ever does) that its fighting system (being similar to Kingdom Hearts) will benefit the series (since I was always a firm believer that Final Fantasy should have taken the Kingdom Hearts Approach after FFX)

FXIII battle system was good, but FXIII-2 was better cause if the leader died, you simply switched leaders. only problem is you cant control your pet monster in FXIII-2
