re: Golden Sun: The Last Battle [M] [PM]

“The message has been delivered, Milord. An emissary has been sent.”
“And Atteka?”
“The invasion has begun. No resistance has been encountered so far.”
”Very well. Any news from Imil?”
“No, Milord.”
”You may go.”
“Thank you, Milord.”

The man that left the throne chamber wore a grey-brown longcoat like all soldiers of the Red Tower, but his tower emblem had a pair of wings behind it, identifying the man as a messenger, one who communicated orders and news in person. Nix didn't like to use modern technology for such important tasks, as those means could easily be bugged by enemies, delivering all information right into their hands. And even with the waning effectiveness of psynergy, teleport was faster to get the job done, and more personal and secure.

The throne room was a chamber unlike any other in the palace, it was a large round chamber, surrounded by bulky pillars all around the chamber, except for two that seemed to be missing. One of the two holes in the pattern was located right before the main doors, the other opposite from them, where the throne stood on an elevation consisting of three steps. The throne was bloodred, a color often associated with chaos and thus Eris adepts. While it was a comfortable chair for anyone seated in it, its surface seemed an ocean of turmoil consisting of spikes, thorns, hummocks, cracks and dents. And yet, with it's almost worthless appearance, it was clear that this was the chair of a leader, that the person seated in this chair deserved the respect of whoever stood before it.

On either side of the elevation stood a statue of a tower, somewhat similar to the lighthouses, but still it was unlike any specific lighthouse, in fact, it was different from all four of them in some fundamental ways. That made sense of course, as the structure did not exist yet in the world today, but the plans were in the making, a location had already been found. And if everything went according to plan, psynergy would not decay any further, in fact, there would be a new source of psynergy altogether, but there were still too many uncertainties, too many questions about how the beacon would actually work. His scientists could not answers those questions, and because of that they doubted. But it was Nix' plan, even though he didn't have every detail worked out yet, he knew that it was possible, that it was not some far fetched dream. The hardest part would be creating the beacon of the lighthouse, and the ‘elemental’ star that contained it, not to mention that it needed to be done before time ran out, before psynergy had decayed to such a level that it were no longer possible.

Without a sound, one of the double doors that gave entrance to the room swung open, and a lone female slipped through. But Nix didn't need to see or hear anything to know that Killana stood there, watching him, moving over silently, the Bond between the two told him all that. Well, of course not in so many words, but her heart had started pounding faster, and her mind sent out feelings of warmth and comfort, and a few other things. Nix smiled without looking up, she was his little point of light through the darkness of this war, and he hoped to keep it that way. “So, I assume you haven't changed your mind yet?” He said, as she moved up the three steps.
“No. Before last night I would have given my life for you. I was already yours then, but now... now you are mine as well. And there's so much more I can give you this way.” Her voice was soft, and more loving than it had ever been before. Nix had doubted about it a long time, whether it was such a good idea to be together, but he cared deeply for her, and it was the least she deserved for her unending loyalty.
“Still upset over what Varox said?” Nix still couldn't get used to the man's name change, Teijin just seemed to fit him better, but perhaps that was because he had befriended the man when he was still Teijin. But apparently the man had changed, and not to Nix' liking, as the man had the nerve to think he had installed Nix on this throne. It was true that the man had played a large part in conditioning his army, but Nix had no doubt the results would have been the same without him. Victory had been his destiny from before he had even met the man. It was unfortunate the man thought that way, but he was free to do and think what he wanted, as long as he didn't harm anyone Nix cared about.
“No. Next time I will not lose my calm, and the man will die.” Killana had refused to use the man's real name, as well as the name he had once used. She didn't care for him anymore, she didn't even hate him, because for her, hate lay too close to love.

“Oh, I should also tell you that I proclaimed a convocation of the Iskuri. They are being brought forth from all corners of the empire as we speak.”
”The Hammer.” Nix looked pensive as he spoke. “I won't deny that they are the best we have, and that we might need them. But I retired them for a reason.” The Hammer, an elite team of adepts in the Red Tower army, but their strength did not come without a price. The men and women were berserkers, in combat, they went over the line, no longer differentiating between friend or foe, slaughtering anything that got in their way. But of course, they never lost. They didn't feel pain, so they went on until there was nothing left of them, no enemy knew how to fight such a force. But that still didn't make it worth losing soldiers over, and that happened far too often. But if an army was truely coming to Tolbi, they might well be invaluable.
“I know that, but if war is coming, we might well need them. Especially if they measure up to Remius.”
“Apparently they are very brittle. So, that made me think that whoever created them, put all their effort in offense, while neglecting defense. If that is the case, no hope is lost yet. If the shields hold, we'll only need to crush our adversaries before they become aware that they can also use indirect attacks.” Nix' plan sounded so good in his head, but there were too many ifs, too much depended on luck. Their enemy came too soon, there was no time to prepare a proper plan, if one could be found in time. Nix feared no strategy would do, when the enemy could come from out of nowhere, all they could do was be prepared, and try no to be overwhelmed. “Let me know when the Iskuri are here, I want to talk to them before the battle.”
“Will do, MY Lord.” She didn't need to emphasize that he was hers, but it wouldn't hurt either, especially not in private. After her last words, Killana turned on her heels and patiently made her way to the door.

------------------------

Character Name: Killana Uljas(Mole)
Age: 19
Appearance: Killana's nose is small and fine, as is her mouth. She has piercing blue eyes in accordance with her element, yet her hair is very dark brown. Her hair is tied together in a long tail behind her head, falling down her back, it is so long it reaches five sixths of the length down her back. It is tied together repeatedly along the way, so it doesn't hinder too much in combat. She has a skinny body with scars here and there, thought most are kept out of sight. She usually wears fairly tight and smooth pants and tight tops in battle, both done specifically to avoid any hindrances in battle. She of course, also wears her black-grey Red Tower coat, although she has been known to not be wearing it at times.
Bio: Killana was born in Prox, though her parents came from Imil. She was raised in a culture of Mars adepts, and due to her diverging element she never learned to use her own psynergy there. Still, her psynergy was in her blood, and she always longed for adventure. Thus, when the first wave of Proxian warriors swore allegiance to Nix, Killana joined them. While in the Red Army, she was chosen to become a guard for the Lord of Chaos, and trained in the art of psynergy. She has always stayed loyal to him, and they even ended up as lovers.
Adept type: Mercury
Weapon: A standard rapier, the weapon itself is nothing special though she wields it with great skill.
Psynergy: Frost, Ice Missile, Megacool, Prism, ...
Djinn: None

------------------------

O²C: I would write another part, but it's 3:30 in the morning, so now is not the proper time.

Ishilar, could you please add Killana to the character list? I know it's short, but she's an important enough character to belong up there.

re: Golden Sun: The Last Battle [M] [PM]

He looked around at the various merchants that lined Izumo's busy main street. In the middle of the day it was the busiest time of the day with all sorts of goods waiting to be purchased and right now that exactly what Kushluk wanted. He and Flora split up to scour the city for information on any strange occurrences that had began recently. But there was another reason that they split up and it was an unspoken game they played and that was to purchase a gift for the other. While they both tried to best each other they both knew in the end it didn't matter who won.

As he walked down the bustling street the creaky unstable homes around the marketplace opened up to a square with a fountain in the center where young men and women gathered around a recruiter for the Red Tower. As he walked past his gaze surprisingly fell on a little boy and girl who where clutching their mothers apron. He couldn't help but hear the girl whimper "When's papa coming home mommy? " The mother hugged her children closely and tried to calm them down "Soon dear, very soon." Upon getting out of ear reach of the recruiter's ranting of the glory of the Red Tower's cause.

Kush was no genius but he knew exactly what was going on, clearly the father of the two children was now serving Nix's army. By force or not it still left an impression on the Shimazu warrior, for when he thought about it he couldn't help but see his past. He turned into an dusty alleyway and leaned against the wall remembering what seemed like ages ago.

When his father served as the sheriff of Dale he was repeatedly sent out on patrols that forced him to be away from his family for weeks on end. Every morning young Kush would wake at the hint of dawn, threw on some mismatched clothes, ran outside and waited for his father to come down the road. On some days he did return then but hen there where days when he didn't, and that's when he looked up to his own mother and asked her the very same question "When's is dad coming home?" and response was the same ""Soon Kush, he'll be home soon." He then just stared down Dale's main street hoping to see his father riding back like he had so many times.

The Shimazu then brought himself back to Izumo and forced himself to reign in those lost times, even though Dale was saved by the Ravencrests bid for power it never did heal a hole in his heart that his refused to even tell his love. And still there was the mark on his left breast, the snake brand of the traitor. Every now and then it still felt like a small hot needle piercing his flesh and sending a minor pain throughout his war-torn body, though he as a soldier was used to discomfort it always seemed to hurt more than it should of. Gritting his teeth he shoved himself off the wall, did an about-face, marched out of the alleyway and resumed his search for information of Djinn or a gift he could give Flora.

"I could have beat her," Ryzeth fumed, "I KNOW I could have, but I couldn't stop thinking about Rith and...and..." the venus adept sighed, "I really messed things up, huh, Aura?"
"Not at all. If you hadn't lost, I may have killed Nix. Negotiating is far better than death," Aura replied.
"But how can I be relied on when things are more serious? I have to be stronger! Somehow, I have to be!" Ryzeth replied.
"You are already very reliable," Aura assured her as the two turned down a long corridor, "What we have to consider now is how we can most aid in fending off the Kohell strike."
"Should we help? If you ask me, I think the Kohell will destroy this place and Nix with it. Even if they don't, Nix and his guards will be weakened. Wouldn't that be for the best?" Ryzeth asked.
"No!" Aura almost shouted, "Ryzeth, all of these soldiers are still people. Just because Nix may be evil doesn't mean they all are. We can't let so many die. Besides, the Kohell are a larger threat. And...I don't think Nix is evil. He is a good man. A good man who is making bad decisions for the greater good."
"The greater good..." Ryzeth echoed. That was something Severein had liked to speak of whenever he did something, or asked the others to do something, that they did not agree with. "I suppose," the venus adept sighed again.
"So we are going to help them?" Varox asked. Both women jumped. They hadn't even noticed the man had followed them out of Nix's room!
"We?" Aura asked at the same time Ryzeth remarked, "I thought you would have stayed with Nix."
Varox answered both questions simply, "My loyalties are to you for now."
"For now..." Aura mused, "We will accept...for now."
Varox's lips twitched in what was almost a smile.
"So now what?" Ryzeth asked.
"We should return to Nix and learn what he plans. It won't do if we disrupt his own strategy," Aura said. If he has one...

Taro blinked.
"The Kohell are attacking?" he asked Remius, "Are you sure?"
"They plan to attack all races at once. This way no race can give aid to another. Two hundred clones were sent to Weyard. One hundred of those are set to attack the adept stronghold on Weyard, the Red Tower base in Tolbi. The other detachment, I've no idea where it will strike. For the much larger nations and more numerous warriors among the Celestials, there are roughly one thousand clones. They will be in Weyard in roughly a day, now. But it will take them longer to cross into the Shade and Radiant lands because there is no rift to either place. The Shades and Radiants must unite or both will perish," Remius replied with cold logic. There was no fear in his voice. Taro, however, was reminded terribly of when he and the others had fought Rith. He had known fear then and he knew it now.
"I've tried, but they're all stubborn," Taro grumbled, masking his fear.
Remius' lips twitched into a smirk, "We shall see how stubborn they are in my presence."
"They'll probably attack you," Taro said bluntly.
"In all probability," Remius agreed, "But only after they listen to what I have to say." The Eris adept set off at a brisk pace toward the counsel chambers, Taro heeling him.

OOC: I apologize for the short post but at the moment, my brain is absolutely stuck as far as ideas for the RP go. I'm hoping to get some idea before the Kohell battle is over with. Until then.

re: Golden Sun: The Last Battle [M] [PM]

Even though Flora was connected to the surrounding lands, her knowledge of her surroundings was still limited, mostly by distance, anything out further than a thousand or so steps, would be equally unknown to her as to others, if she knew much more than that, she would be distracted far too often, even now she had to shut out most of it, unless she needed the intel. The braid blew in the fierce wind that suddenly rushed through the narrow streets of Izumo. There were few people here, so the wind could run its course any way it wanted. Flora barely even noticed the smell of salt anymore, mostly because she lived close by the sea, although she had spent the previous few days on a mountain far away from the ocean. What she did enjoy, were the streets under her feet. Those streets consisted entirely of very hard dirt, the streets here had never been paved in the city's entire history, yet the streets were much cleaner than in most other towns she had been to. She didn't kick up dust from the simple streets either, which was a nice surprise in itself.

Wandering seemingly aimlessly around the city, Flora stopped by several stores, looking around for the present she would get Kushluk, but nothing seemed interesting or good enough, most of it was junk. As she made her way to yet another store, she became aware of a critter at the edge of her area of knowledge, definitely a djinn, judging by the way psynergy flowed near it. As Flora tried to determine were exactly to go, a second psynergetic creature came into the area, many feet higher than the other, but not too far away from it. Another? Well, that one is for Kush. The one she was going after, was probably in a cave under the city, since the other seemed to be at ground level. Well, that would be a good guess anyway.

Flora fell into a run, hurrying through the thin streets, trying to avoid bumping into random people as she rushed through the city. She finally came across a square, which was surrounded by six pillars in a circle, at least, almost in a circle, one stood out just enough to visually break the pattern, yet no-one else seemed to notice, or they just didn't care enough. It had to be a puzzle, a test so that only those with psynergetic ability would be able to discover whatever the puzzle protected. Stories often spoke of these challenges, but she had never had to solve any of them, although some locations had been unreachable without psynergy as well, but she had no idea whether that counted as a puzzle or not. But this test seemed simple enough, save for the fact that the pillar could probably only be moved by psynergy, and not by anything else, at least, that was her own guess. It would make sense though, if it was meant to keep norms out, that they would make using psynergy a necessity.

Ready to test her reasoning, Flora allowed her psynergy to flow, the idea of a tingling sensation filled her mind as the stream of Venus psynergy extended outside of her body and into the misaligned pillar. She could see the pulsating glow of psynergy around herself, revealing that she was casting a spell, and the glow even extended to the pillar as well. Of course, norms couldn't see this, only an adepts could do so, but even then it had its limitations. With a simple mental command, the pillar shuddered and started moving, until the circle was really a circle, and then it seemed to click into place. The ground trembled lightly as a hole opened up in the very center of the circle. What had once been a ladder was visible from where Flora was standing, but it was clear that the aged wood would crumbled at the slightest touch, it was a miracle the thing had even held while the ground had shook just before. Still, if she wanted the djinn, she would have to go down there.

---------------------

“Coming with a plan so soon, Aura?” Nix' face stood dead serious, he was not joking, he had enough to be done this day, he had no time for idle chatter or pointless debating, he didn't even have time for a friendly fight. “I don't have time to just stand around. If there is something, say so and let me get back to the preparations for tomorrow.”
“We're here to offer our help, Nix.” Aura's face remained calm and stood serious, Ryzeth's face was different, but still determination shone through, which seemed like a good thing, though Nix could not really lay his finger on why that was important. Still, it was useful to have a pair of great adepts more, their chances would certainly be greatly improved with a Messenger by their side.
“Very well then. I suppose I should bring you up to speed about the plan.” Nix didn't stop talking while he walked across the room to grab a rolled up map from the cupboard there. “The plan is relatively simple. Simple plans survive the longest in battle, and even a simple plan never survives until the end.” He unrolled the map across the large table, putting glasses on each corner of the map. “This is the palace and its surroundings. I will place the Iskuri around the edge of this map, hiding them until the attack is in full progress. Stay away from them in battle, they might attack friend as well as foe. Then, my army and myself will be the bait. We will set up defensive positions around the palace, I've told my soldiers to throw all they had at the enemy in a single attack, and then retreat as defensively as possible, throwing in a counter-attack only when they are able to. At this point, the Iskuri will have come out, surrounding the opposing army. They will be crushed from both sides. This way, most of the city will be spared from the battle. I could use a couple more adepts around the castle who will have some real retaliatory capabilities, so you would be of most help to me here.” That was the whole plan, a rather simple one, but it would probably work, if the enemy didn't see through the trap, but that was unlikely.
“Alright Nix, we'll be here. Varox will be too.”
“Good. Don't get killed out there.” Nix' final reply came out cold, but he had to play it cold, he couldn't allow himself to care about her, not now, not after she had seriously tried to kill him. But he could well use her help, with her, the plan had so much more chance of success. Ryzeth was another matter, she was not a bad adept, probably stronger and more ingenious than most of his soldiers, but she was still not an adult, she would still makes mistakes, and in this battle, mistakes could possibly lead to ultimate doom. But he doubted he could ever seperate the two, and hence he had no choice in the matter, he could only get lucky now.

----------------------

Flora tumbled down the shaft for a good second or two before a strong beat from her wings slowed her down enough to land on the cavefloor gently. As soon as she touched the ground, her wings became nothing more than a memory once again, leaving no trace of them in her body, only in her mind, where they lay dormant to be summoned again. She hated having to put her wings away, she loved them, but she couldn't afford to squander all that psynergy now, not while time ticked away before the Kohell would emerge from their realm to claim Weyard as their own, not while they gathered Djinn to strengthen themselves just for that reason. The future looked as grim as the cavernous path, but at least she could solve the darkness of that last one. The future was yet wholely undecided, and there were far more factions in play that had say about the matter. When had everything become so complicated? She and her brother used to wander from battle to battle, not worrying too much about the how or why, the only thing that had been important was survival, and now so many more things counted.

But that was all not important to focus on right now, the here and now was always more important than the big picture. And now, the chase was on. A small horned djinn appeared before Flora, hurrying away at the instance it saw it was not alone, desperately trying to hide from the intruder. But the djinn was too easy to follow, its red and yellow skin and beady blue eyes reflected the light of her glowing eyes surprising well, making the djinn appear as an almost glowing spot in Flora's sight. She chased after the little elemental without hesitation, occasionally bumping into walls or protrusions. Of course, no hindrance actually slowed her down. Even when the rocky floor fell away under her, Flora clung onto the stalactite before her, avoiding a deep fall. The djinn seemed to be mocking her, as it stood just two metres away, gazing at her with its big eyes, awaiting her next move.

As Flora clung to the stalactite calmly and quietly, the hanging spire started moving gently along the ceiling, transporting Flora in the direction of the djinn. As Flora approached, the djinn fled once again, trying to hide deeper and deeper in the cave, but Flora did not relent. Ignoring whatever annoyances got in her way, she did not fall behind on the djinn, until finally the djinn had no where left to go. The path before them had caved in. Before Flora could lash out with her might, the djinn spoke to her, mentally. “You have shown perseverance, adept. I am Fury, and I am yours from now on.” The djinn exploded into legion tiny glowing particles, which slowly reversed their direction of movement, floating toward Flora. Thus Fury became the fourth member of her djinn.

re: Golden Sun: The Last Battle [M] [PM]

Anemos the ancient city of the Jupiter Clan. For whatever reason the streets were empty and the same for the buildings. A ghost city floating above all of Weyard; no bones, no headstones, no signs of life at all the buildings were totally empty. Mizu wasn't surprised, after all it had been countless centuries since she had seen the city in it's prime before it took to the sky. Now the only people in the city were a few people from the world below, and soon they too will leave the city to itself.

"I always imagined you would being cry a lot more." She whispered softly to a small baby cradled in her arms. "Now just stay quiet a little longer." As she opened the door giving a quick look around she sensed a massive burst of psynergy from the town center. Please don't push your luck Zander.

re: Golden Sun: The Last Battle [M] [PM]

Aura knelt beside Ryzeth on the ramparts surrounding Tolbi. A light breeze ruffled her long hair. It was the day Remius had said the Kohell would attack. Her heart hammered in her chest like a tight drum. This would be the first of perhaps many skirmishes and battles with the Kohell. With messenger clones. She glanced at Ryzeth. The knuckle's holding her whip in an iron grip were white. The tension among the two and the soldiers around them was thicker than molasses. Else where, Nix would be preparing his soldiers to bait the Kohell into the castle. Aura prayed the plan would work. Soldiers, of course, were naturally prepared to die, but the civilians still in the city...Aura shook her head grimly.
Nix had called for an emergency evacuation earlier. Most had listened but those that hadn't were full of confidence in Nix's abilities. Too confident. It pained her to admit it, but they would probably perish. She couldn't let that bother her now. Not when there was a battle to be fought.
As Aura let out a sigh, her vision flickered. A Searing Beam flashed before her gaze and vanished just beside her.
"MOVE!" she bellowed, throwing the bewildered soldier next to her aside and firing a Sol-infused arrow in the direction she knew the Searing Beam would come from. Her vision held true as Sol psynergy met Mars psynergy and crackled as the two forces nullified one another.
"Ready yourselves!" Aura shouted at the soldiers, "They are coming!"
Ryzeth was standing and tapping into her psynergy. An amber glow surrounded her as she readied a barrage of Spires to throw at the Kohell. Around her, Aura caught the glow of psynergy as the soldiers around her began to let off their own psynergy.
Aura had no warning this time. The air exploded open as a hole was torn seemingly in mid-air. Out of it rushed the messenger clones, hurling fireballs and calling lightning in every direction.
"Ryzeth, hold back some of your psynergy for defense. We'll need some cover after we finish attacking," Aura told the venus adept beside her as she took off into the air, heralding the retaliation of Nix's army. A salvo of psynergy crackled through the air behind Aura as the army unleashed their most powerful attacks. Fireballs whistled past her as they streaked toward the clones. The sky roared in fury as streaks of forked lightning were called downward. The wind behind Aura's wings was an icy tempest that howled as the icy daggers contained in it swept into the Kohell. There were no displays of venus psynergy. Aura had offered a slightly alternate to Nix's plan and for that she would need all the venus adepts she could find.
Aura herself hurled streams of white light from her hands in a technique she had come to call Photon. The Photon blasts proved to be as destructive as the other three elements unleashed against the Kohell combined. The streams tore through the frail bodies of the messenger clones effortlessly. The attack might have killed twenty, though it cost Aura terribly.
"An all-out attack, Nix. That's what you wanted. I pray your Iksuri are half as good as you say they are," Aura thought as she called, "Now, Ryzeth!"
The venus adept nodded and shouted, "As one, you pitiful excuses for venus adepts!" just as Aura called out, "Fall back! Fall back!"
The sol adept made it back to the ramparts just as a massive wall of earth rose from the ground, shielding the castle temporarily from the messenger clones. Aura glanced around her as some of the venus adepts collapsed from the strain. Ryzeth was one of the few who still stood, barely out of breath. They helped those who had collapsed off the ramparts and to the location Nix had told them to go. Behind her, Aura could already hear the stone wall cracking and crumbling. The first battle of what would be a long war, hard had begun.

OOC: I really must apologize for the shortness of the post. It was originally meant to be longer, but my step-sister had her baby and now I get to go and see it. =D

re: Golden Sun: The Last Battle [M] [PM]

Varox sat by the city gates, his head gazing at the few blades of grass that remained in the developed wasteland. The hidden weapon he carried was jarred against the city's wall beside him. Scores of Tolbi troops hurried in and out of the gate, preparing ramparts and other defenses. The battle was coming.

The time had come, Varox stationed himself at the rear line outside the castle. Once Ryzeth & Aura had done there part, he would next step up to face the messenger heathens. As powerful as messengers they say, should I get ready? The voice asked him as he pulled the weapon from his back and tugged on the rag that covered it. The fabric peeled back to reveal a dark blade, wide and longer that standard broadswords. Crimson red scored it's surface, this was a weapon of fire. What better way for a Lunar Adept to catch his enemy off-guard than with a weapon of the opposing element. Ready yourself, we may need it. He told it and he could feel it beginning to focus it's energy.

Ahead the sky filled with various flares and energies, psynergy volleyed back and forward across the walls. Adepts worked to contain and nullify it before it could cause any harm. A commanding officer was barking orders to the surrounding troops, Varox noticed him as Kahei, another one of his past pupils. Aura & Ryzeth where beginning to fall back. Kahei barked one final order and the troops poured forward to begin the battle.

Varox descended the flights of steps that led to the castle gate, dragging his sword behind him. There Ryzeth & Aura had come to a halt. "How did it go?" He asked as he approached, both of which simply looked back at the direction they came. "I'm unsure, it should work. I see little that could go wrong at this point. But we had-" Aure was interrupted by the sudden shudder of psynergy that began to rock the city. "It may be best to hold that thought." Varox said as he pulled the sword into one hand by his side. "Nix's plan had best not fail."

OoC : Congratz to your step-sister then, Ishi. Have fun.

I'm still awaiting a post from you, Zero, about Imil. Finish that little situation if you wish, or let me know how you want it to proceed.

---------------------

Morning had come so quickly, Nix had barely slept. His eyes felt heavy, his mind foggy, while he was normally wide awake when so many people buzzed around him, preparing for a battle to come. It didn't really matter, with the first sign of battle, his mind would clear up and he would be as alert as possible, as had always been the case for those of his men who weren't rested. A person always wanted to survive, and if the body had to wake up to do that, then it would wake up, Nix had never seen any exceptions to the rule. He felt the blade attached to his lower arm though it was completely unnecessary, the blade had never let him down, it was reliable. Although he did start to think he needed to acquire a new weapon, something rarely seen before on the face of Weyard, it would give him a strange type of edge. Perhaps after this battle could he think of something.

Nevertheless, the plan had been set up last night, to think he could actually turn this battle into something positive, something that would give him another edge over others. He just had to hope that it would all go as planned, which was anything but a certainty, but it had good odds. And it would even be so much better if the Red Tower didn't fall apart afterwards, although that wasn't a necessity for victory, his plan could possibly set him on top before his lighthouse was even completed. If the plan succeeded, but he knew where to get confirmation of his plan, if only he could find the old man again. Nix grinned as he walked through the halls of the palace, his mind clearing and his eyes brightening as he walked. Today would be a long day, but when it was over, he would at least be on par with one of the messengers.

Echoes of thunder engulfed the innards of the castle, alerting the Lord of Chaos to the beginning of the battle he had prepared so long for. “To your battle stations, soldiers, stay sharp, and don't die out there.” They might actually not die because their lord had ordered it, his soldiers were weird like that, though he doubted it would actually make a difference today. The enemy they fought was nothing less than an army of messenger clones, clones of the most powerful beings ever to walk upon the face of Weyard, which meant that there was next to no chance of victory, but that meant greater odds for his plan to succeed. Nix himself rushed up the stair, making his way to one of the many balconies of the castle, from where he could oversee at least a part of the battle, and taunt the Kohell into entering the castle.

As Nix stepped out on the balcony, he noticed Aura, Ryzeth and Varox on the ground below him. Half a dome of earth, erected by psynergy, blocked his view of the city. There was a hole in the top just big enough to let in enough light to work by. Although that wasn't necessary at all, most of the Red Tower soldiers were still Mars adepts, which meant that they could generate their own lighting if needed. The dome shook time and time again under the barrage of the messenger clones, it wouldn't take very long before the construction would shatter and their enemies would start pouring in. But if it went as Aura had suggested, then their enemies would rush in through a single hole, giving the Red Tower the perfect opportunity to deal out another severe blow. And with some luck, they would actually be able to defeat these faux messengers.

---------------------

Flora hadn't been able to go back the way she had actually entered the cave, so she had blasted her way through the cave in before her, with a little help of her djinn. She had finally reached the outside only to find carnage, death and chaos raining down from the heavens. How had she not felt this coming? Over the city flew two dozen harbingers of doom. It had been a year now, but she remembered them well, even though they had died so quickly that day. Without any hesitation, her four wings burst forth from her back, and the Messenger of Growth shot through the air toward the faux Messenger closest to her. Without warning, a stream of liquid ice shot forth from somewhere in the city, completely obliterating one of her opponents.

Love. It had to have been Kushluk, there was no-one else here who was powerful enough to launch such an attack, and most of the soldiers of the Red Tower ran or hid behind their shields instead of attacking their enemy. Though she couldn't really blame them, they didn't stand a real chance. The warriors sent by the Kohell had apparently started off with serious might, laying entire city blocks in the ashes and sending death and decay through the once peaceful streets of Izumo. Flora grabbed the golden sword from her back, removing the covering cloth from it in a single brusk move. There was barely any distance between herself and her chosen target, but only now was she starting to receive some attention. It was too late though, with a powerful thrust had she driven Visse through her opponent's heart, killing him instantly.

In a flash she disappeared as the clones were about to descend upon her, only to appear somewhere else near them, the Hunter prepared with a shiny arrow of Sol psynergy. The arrow struck through the head of another clone, the remaining lump of a body quickly accelerating toward the pavement below. I can't believe how easy this is. What is the catch? As she released another arrow from her psynergetic bow, a retaliation came from her left, a powerful stream of water froze as it hit her, not only knocking her out of the sky, but also restricting her so that she couldn't do anything about it. As she tumbled toward the ground, three of the faux Messengers dove after her.

-------------------------

Killana moved up to Nix, who still stood looking out over his troops from high atop the balcony. “Preparations have been take, my lord.” Taken by surprise, Nix turned around to face her, his eyes looking seriously, though he still managed to give her a smile. “Thank you, my lady.” Before Killana could reply, a thunderously loud cracking sound, followed by a scream and the sound of a rock crashing travelled through the dome. Turning around to see, a breach had been created in the dome, and there were obvious signs of fighting, the Iskuri were early. A handful of Messengers came in through the hole, throwing around elemental attacks at the numerous soldiers aligned before the castle. Swords of earth, balls of fire, walls of ice and streaks of lightning filled the dome, meeting human flesh and metallic shields alike. Soldiers fell by the dozens, without apparently any effort from the clones. Yet the shields did hold, protecting the holder from certain death, at least those that used to properly.

Killana glowed with psynergetic might, casting rows of icy spears forward. Nix followed her example, sending in two powerful Bursts of Entropy before sounding the retreat, commanding his troops to make their way into the castle, after which he turned around and followed Killana into the castle. She took her guard duty very seriously now, even more so because she loved him, she would scour any room for him, though that really wasn't necessary. Since both he and she knew where they were going, and that that was the best guarded room in the palace. For good reason. The room was essential to his plan, if all went well, the world would think him dead after today, but they would be more than wrong.

-----

He was there when they hit.

Kushluk was coming down the marketplace still looking for the right gift when he suddenly stopped dead in his tracks, the Shimazu's heightened senses and messenger powers tingled in his mind. There was a foul hint the air, at least a dozen of them, twisted minds of chaos and carnage.

Gazeing at the people of Izumo who went about there normal lives, unaware of the danger coming down from the skies. Children ran through the streets in front of the uniformed warrior playing games, merchants argued with customers about prices, and an old couple walked by hand in hand flaunting their long happiness to the world. All where blind to the fact of the coming storm.

But Kush wasn't ... and he drew out the Shotput of his Father and cocked a slug into the chamber. At first he muttered a warning unsure and shaking "run .... run .... Run." Then he howled out "GET OUT OF HERE!!!!" The people around him would of questioned him as they gazed at him in fear but once he fired off a shot into the air "MOOOVEE!!!!" that cleared the street of people as they ran inside or least away from the suspected maniac.

The Shimazu looked to the sky just in time to see the heavens seem to belch comets and lighting in and around Izumo. The effects struck different parts of the city like a falling anvil, whole blocks of the city where struck, spreading uncontrollable fires to spread. Though some tried to help others the city of Izumo was now fast becoming a inferno. And all was seen and heard by the Shimazu who looked up to a particular reddened cloud of hellish size. From the confines they came, harbingers of doom .... all twelve of them screeching their unearthly screams of terror.

All who heard them fell to their knees with their hands pressed firmly to their ears to block the shrill cry, but even then among the people and soldiers it was feeling as if it was burying it's way into their brain. Soon the cries of the citizens and soldiers became woefully clear to all as the people rushed to cover from the shock tactic. Even the adepts of the Red Tower ran in fear or some simply collapsed in fear and despair. With the populace stunned as such they began to descend to feast on their prey.

It was at that moment when he fired off a stream of Mercury Psyenergy from the Gerald completely destroying one of the fiends. Some of them continued to descend on a certain point in the city but five of the hell bringers turned to the source, flying faster than a fired arrow toward Kushluk. Their hooded forms speed down to the lone soldier who dared stood against them, raising their black tainted spears and scthyes to strike the warrior of Dale.

Inside of his mind he saw these creatures as the anit-life. All the good things in life these things where the total opposite of everything he valued. He waited till they got close till he was sure they would hear them "Big mistake." he felt a power in his gut and he didn't hold back on anything.

No Pity. No Mercy. No Survivors. His anger got the best of him.

Kushluk's messenger wings literally tore out of his uniform and fully extended enough to touch the buildings on either side of the market street. If it was the brightness of his wings or the shock of them fighting a strong foe Kush didn't give them a chance to recover from their pause. With sheer inhuman speed and grace that was only honed by long months of struggle and war Kushluk slung the Gerald and drew out the Fransica hand axes from their slings on his wrists. Empowering them with the pysnergy of Mercury and Venus Kushluk threw both axes with each finding their mark as two of the fiends fell from the mighty throws.

Finally over coming the shock the final three foes swooped down on him, their icy shrill cries seemingly shaking the air around them. Even Kush had to grit his teeth at the sound but by muscle memory he whipped out the Double Comet from his back. His trusty double halberd fended off the three flying enemies with the skill worthy of a Hellfury Champion. The massive pole-arm seemed to go on a will of its own as it blocked and parried the fiends blows. When the Harbringers attacks seemed to lessen Kushluk took the offense.

His next foe came in close to the ground with the intention to hack his legs, he never got that far as Kushluk slammed the Comet down hard into the ground, leapt off the ground and delivered a massive kick into the fiend which sent the creature into a burning building which promptly collapsed on it. A final shriek was all that was heard before just the crackling of fire.

Another fiend was coming from behind but Kush had seen it before he took the first freak. Using his momentum from his first attack Kushluk stamped down on the ground, wrenched out the Comet and swung slicing the creature's weapon and it into two pieces of darkened blood. When the blood of the fiends touched Kushluk's uniform though the Shimazu swore as it started to burn through his BDU's. reacting quickly through training instinct only Kushluk tore off his uniform blouse and his Kevlar Armor Plate that had served him since he left Dale. Now only his Sand T-Shirt that had holes in it from the acid protected his upper torso. Small patches of his skin had blisters from the surprise, all which burned like a small solar flare. His wings where hit as well as black spots formed on his mighty white wings.

As Kushluk tried to soothe the pained areas the final Harbringer swooped down from on high, a darkened lance threatening to skewer the Messenger of Life. Kush smirked as the fiend neared "Gotcha." he spun around and fired in rapid succession all of his Raging Bull rounds into the creature form from ten feet away. It wasn't the powerful slug of the Bull that hurt the Harbringer, it was the fact that they where silver that struck a fatal blow. The thing writhed and trashed around shrieking for a second before dying.

Breathing heavily Kush forced himself to gather his weapons, finally setting his rear on the charred grounds of the once bustling market street. There he examined his injures and cleared his temper and mind so he could examine his injures. As his adrenaline ceased though he realized .... "Flora"

Ignoring the fact that he was injured the Shimazu blasted upwards like a jet stream and once high above the city he saw a arrow of Sol Energy shoot toward the black/red sky. Lighting was a clear present danger and comets still flew around him but he didn't even register them. He soar through the air dodging all the obstacle with his heart racing.

He wasn't letting any of these fiends near her. Kushluk aimed down the sights of the Gerald as the distance closed between his love and her attackers, waiting patiently for a clear shot with his next Venus enchanted slug.

re: Golden Sun: The Last Battle [M] [PM]

“Our surrender?” Enzo smiled. He was weaker now than during the battle against the Golden Sun, but his speechcraft was still quite good. This Raphel would have to do better than threatening then to bargain against him. “We are here to negotiate the terms of a military alliance.”
“The Red Tower doesn’t negotiate under any terms that aren’t our own.” Insolent man, that one. Enzo wondered if it would really be a blow to Weyard defenses if he wiped them out right there. “You will accept our terms, or we won’t need to negotiate any further.”
“Hah!” Enzo smiled, or perhaps grinned. “Did you ever stop to wonder if you really can take the most powerful messenger, plus a whole city full of Mercury adepts? You would be the first to fall, you fool, and even if one of your other archers could hit me as I laid waste upon your petty army from high above, sny of these adepts could cure me completely before I reached the ground.” The Man’s face retorted slightly before being forced back to normal. Enzo grinned, he was bluffing of course. While his powers had diminished the least among the messengers, his body would decay much faster than before, and no adept could heal his wounds. I was like the world was sucking the psynergy from him in order to keep itself together. Enzo humorously guessed he delayed the death of psynergy in four hours.
“Your feeble threats will no---“
“I hate to stop you from replying, but your threats are much funnier than mine. You don’t believe you can do it with the firepower you have now. And if you did, you would be a fool. Also, you are not going to retreat today, the people of Imil will fight before allowing you to return with reinforcements. And if the stupid conflict ends up killing all Mercury Adepts, what good it would be to anyone?” First, break their logic. Than rape yours into them. “Unless you accept Imil’s terms, this will become a bloodbath, which will only hurt the Red Tower, with nothing else to gain. But under Imil’s limitations, the Empire of Chaos will avoid all that.” Enzo spoke very seriously, taking the grin out of his face. The man seemed upset, but decided.
“What are your terms?” Raphel questioned and the Elder stepped up to speak.
“The adepts of Imil are trained in psynergy and combat, but Imil never wages war. They need more training, or else you will be only taking skilled surgeons to act after the battles. The Red Tower shall allow the adepts to be trained in Imil, lest they have the obligation of building their training facilities in the vicinity of the city. Also, Imil shall control the recruitment of adepts, bur we will be fair about it. Your army has need to Mercury Adepts and we understand that. Finally---”

The old man was interrupted by a deafening sound. It was like an explosion, but continuous and much louder. Enzo looked up, to the apparent source of the sounds. The cloudy gray sky of the North seemed to crack with every occurrence of that sound, as if the threads of reality were being broken by it. Or perhaps those cracks were causing them? It was impossible to think about it. The sound became louder, and slowly it became much more like the violent seas of the leviathan Poseidon. The sky, which now was much more like a glass window, finally shattered.

“In the name of Hermes!” The old man bellowed, glancing upon the open hole in dome of heavens.
“What... What treachery is this?!” Raphel immediately conjured his fiery bow into hands, expecting that to be a trap in the first moment. Only then he actually realized what that was.
“The Kohell are here! To arms, Red Tower!” Enzo shouted before Raphel could, spreading his seven wings and rocketing towards the skies. From that wound in existence many creatures, referred to as clones of messengers, appeared. Enzo was incapable of counting them all precisely, but he guessed they were over thirty. “They are here to wipe all Mercury adepts with one blow. Do not allow them to destroy the city!” Could those men actually bring down a single clone? Could Imil? Enzo did not believe the answer was anything but ‘no’, but it was not time to be wise.

Enzo took in his arms his naginata spear and charged towards his enemies.

-----

“This is all too serious.” Lyan stood, watching the battle from afar. If the fake messengers were attacking them, it was certainly not because Tolbi, but because of the real messengers. Somewhere out there... Enzo was fighting too. She knew it. “You fool... Why id you leave me behind, Enzo?”

re: Golden Sun: The Last Battle [M] [PM]

O²C : Zero, could you please change Raphel grabbing his bow to him conjuring his bow/casting Aries. It was originally Kirie's spell, but I think it would show advancement on Raphel's part. Thanks.

Song : Center of the Universe - Kamelot

---------------

Raphel's fiery arrows were intercepted by a simple Deluge spell, dissipating the fiery arrows before they could even come close to their intended target. The clones were simply too far away for any spell not to be intercepted in time, the same applied in the other direction too of course. ”Run, Jalas, tell the soldiers to protect the village and its inhabitants. Only the trio should come to my aid.” The trio were the only ones that could possibly make a difference in this fight, most of the soldiers were nor strong enough, nor trained enough to attack their opponents succesfully. As the Messenger disappeared behind him, Raphel looked left and right to see the men and women in his bodyguard surrounding him. A hundred and three shields were pointed in the direction of the faux Messengers, ready to take any attack those might come up with, hopefully the shields would hold.

Kenraali Raphel. Children often dreamed of becoming a general, having something to say in the army, if only they knew the responsibilities and dangers that went with the high position, they would certainly reconsider. Raphel hated it in any case, especially in a situation such as this, where he had to choose between letting people die or letting other people die. While their enemies were not terribly numerous, they had countless advantages: they were stronger, faster and had a greater zone of movement since they could fly. They rained down death and destruction, at least before the Messenger went head to head with them, the town was definitely a primary target. Nevertheless, the adepts of the Mercury clan seemed to fend for themselves rather well, quickly putting out any fires and blocking any direct attacks on them.

As the Messenger fought the entire horde of clones, a dozen broke away from the battle to dive toward the town. Raphel didn't hesitate to move toward Imil along with his own brigade of bodyguards. Before they had covered any serious distance though, another half dozen of the Messenger clones broke of their battle with the real Messenger to stop him and his party from advancing. Elemental bolts rained down on them, but the shields held, not giving in to the strain of repeated attacks. Still, while the soldiers were safe from attack, they couldn't move at all, nor could they reciprocate. Raphel was the only one without a shield, so he jumped up between his men, his head and arms raised above the plane of shields. Quickly casting Aries, he fired off a threesome of flaming arrows in the direction of the closest faux Messenger before diving back under the shields.

---------------

The fall seemed to go on forever, time slowing down as the ground drew closer behind her, as did the three Messenger clones in front of her. As slow as everything seemed to go, time was running out, her chances of escape diminishing every passing moment. Doubt slowly seeped into her mind, further hindering her, as she did not fully trust any single course of action, but sometimes, action alone was enough, and only the inability to take action would actually lead to doom. Yet, by the time she realized that, it was already too late. The ground was too close, as were her attackers, and Kushluk would never be able to interfere in time. She would be going in for the crash.

Flora wouldn't give up that easily, she had to at least try to stop the crash or disperse her opponents, if only to buy herself and Kushluk some time to fight back. Hoping for the latter, Flora began to collect and channel all her energy in a single powerful spell, a spell she had used countless times before, though usually less potent than now. She started glowing in the brightest light anyone could possibly imagine, not only blinding to her adversaries, but so powerfully that the ice encasing her began melting, and plants sprung up from the ground beneath her. But before the ice around her wings began melting, her psynergy suddenly dissipated, and her appearance shifted back to her pale white-pinkish skin. Shock displayed all over Flora's face. It just couldn't be, how could one of those foul creatures be here, floating in mid-air? How could one of the foul specters, engineered by Nemo in Dale, have joined the Kohell?

The shock had used up the last bit of Flora's time, leaving none for any last attempt at survival. Shock still displaying on her lovely face, she crashed on the hard underground with lethal speed, and despite the plants, she felt every little bit of force from the impact. Her still frozen wings hit the ground first, shattering into a near infinite amount of tiny pieces, but before she could even feel it, the rest of her body hit the ground as well, resulting in a double wave of agonizing pain being sent through her body. The air was pushed out of her lungs and she had definitely had a lot of broken bones in addition to internal bleedings and dislocated body parts. As soon as the pain had come, it had disappeared, leaving Flora unable to do anything, as her body would not respond to her commands. When some feeling returned to her lungs, she tried to inhale, but instead ended up coughing up blood and feeling more pain.

Flora had to count herself lucky, falling so fast from so high should have killed her without her even noticing the impact. She would've loved not feeling the impact. Above her, in front of her eyes, one of the clones was blasted into distant oblivion by a massive stream of Venus psynergy, causing the other two to temporarily shift their attention away from her, as did the specter. The surreal floating entity was the next to perish under powerful crushing wave of water, driven by Kushluk's djinn Surf. Seeing this echoed knowledge through Flora's brain, and she noticed her own djinn had come out to protect and heal her. Flower glowed with a psynergetic glow, while the other three stared at the sky above her. As one of the two remaining Messenger clones faced Kushluk's full wrath, Flora sent both Bane and Fury after the other. After Bane's attack, the clone turned a sickly green color and his wings began moving slower, disregarding whatever their owner wanted them to do. But that wasn't the full extent of it yet, Fury hadn't had his turn, so while the faux Messenger struggle to cling to life, a handful of ghastly shapeless being rushed against and through him, taking whatever energy it had had left, resulting in a swift crash to the ground for the now dead clone.

--------------

“Remember to disappear if the plan succeed, my lovely Killana. I don't think anyone knows of our bond, but if they do, they'll wonder why you're not grieving over my loss.” Nix spoke quietly as the couple hurried through another corridor in the grand palace, the sound of explosions and fighting echoing behind them, announcing the approach of the false Messengers.
“Don't worry. If it is necessary I will be crying and digging through the rubble to find you.” Killana grinned at Nix, while a flame shaped piece of ice danced in her hand, much like a real flame would. Her focus and her grip on her psynergy were intense.
A few moments later, they entered the throne chamber with two guards positioned at each side of the door, all wearing a red-grey long-coat signalling them to be castle guards. All four had their shields standing beside them. “Pick up those shields, soldiers. It's going to get rough in here.” Nix sounded authorative, commanding, and of course the soldiers obeyed without hesitation.

“Sound the retreat, Killana. There's no need for the soldiers still in the palace to get slaughtered now.” She obeyed without hesitation as well, but unlike the guards who looked at him with surprise in their eyes, she knew what was going to happen next. Pako entered the throne chamber a moment before Killana sent out the retreating signal: a high-pitched tone that would carry till well outside the castle. Nix motioned the four guards to stay. Psynergy began flowing in many rooms around them, each one ending abruptly as the sources were shifted to another place by teleportation. No-one would've stayed behind if the soldiers had done exactly as he had told them too, and no more of them would fall victim to the Messenger clones.

Killana took up her position in front of the door, while the guards flanked it on either side, catching anyone that would try to enter in a crossfire. Nix on the hand stood in the middle of the room, which was coincidentally also the middle of the palace and started channeling his psynergy between the palms of his hands, trying to build up pressure for the spell he was going to cast, a spell that would surely destroy all of the clones in the castle, but it would take him a short time to actually build up the needed psynergy, as the spell would need to reach pretty far and wide. Varox Aura and Ryzeth knew the plan, and given that they had not fallen, they would arrive in the throne chamber very quickly, or they would perish under Nix' spell as well.

----------------

O²C : Well, next post will see at least the end of the battle in Tolbi. I just wanted to give Patton and Ishilar the chance to add something to it.

Mind you that the four guards can teleport, so they are your ticket out when the spell is ready to be cast.

re: Golden Sun: The Last Battle [M] [PM]

OOC: I suppose I'll start heading back.

- - - -

"Let none pass until we are ready!" Kahei's words where filled with the courage of many as he steeled himself against another wave of clones. His sword swung instinctively, aiming for it's vital points. The latter twisted and avoided the attack and moved to counter. It unsheathed it's own blade and prepared to lunge it into his chest.

The ash black metal clattered against the hilt of the blade, sending it to the ground and forced the clone to hold his hand from the impact. A new warrior stood to face him. His garments as black as his large sword. "Kahei, fall back now!" Varox ordered. Kahei looked if he was about to protest when he nodded and turned to retreat.

"Now, I believe you wanted a fight." He said with a smile as he took the sword in both hands. The clone abandoned his weapon and rushed forward to attack with psynergy. Varox quickly slid beneath his guard and lunged the sword into it's gut. Pulling it free. It slumped and fell. More where on their way. Two in fact. Both wielding similar equipment to the last. 'Now Babylon! release it's energy.' He told the Djinn as it sprang into the large jet black blade and set it ablaze like a crimson inferno. The blade revved and charged, tearing up the street as it scarred across it's surface. Varox took it in both hand brought it up across the chest of the first clone, sending it airborne. Varox followed as the sword dragged him into the and then he brought the sword down across the gut of the clone. Decapitating it as they crashed into the dust road. Not taking time to look at the deed, he turned again, recharging the sword with his own psynergy and cut down the second across it's throat. Shattering it's weapon as it tried to guard. Content, he re-hooked the sword on his back and ran back up the steps and into the main corridors of the castle.

Inside was also a battleground as remnants of the clones fought with the brave forces of Tolbi's Red Guard. He had come to the front entrance of the main chamber at the heart of the castle before he had to draw his weapon again. Pulling it free in one hand he leapt into the air and crashed down of a score of three or more clones. The darted away as the sword crashed on the marble flooring, shattering it. The four took up position in a boxed formation around him. One in each corner. They drew weapons, staves and swords alike and plunged towards him.. 'Again!' he said and once more the sword was set alight. Twisting an turning he dragged it a full 360 degrees before leaping into the air and fulfilling another 360 degrees. The sword clattered with each incoming attack and parried them away and the intense baptism of fire threatened to set them alight. Once landing on the ground he pressed his open palm on the floor and channeled ice across the open space of the floor. The marble froze over in a wave of ice before engulfing the four clones in it's bitter icy grip. The froze solid, and all was silent. He replaced the sword and parted the doors to enter.

As he entered the guards, and Killana, jumped as if they where expecting something else. "I'm the first to arrive, more will come. Both ally & enemy so best prepare youselfs for a seige." He said as he took up station at the furthest end of the right flank.

OOC: just to note, the fire psyenergy is the swords doing, it feeds off general psyenergy and the djinn channels it into a inferno. The djinn also has another use which will be revealed soon.

He held nothing back as he jabbed the Gerald into the creatures face and pulled the trigger sending the slug Metrcury Pysenergy through the clone's skull. The fiend hung in the air as if stunned for a moment but then fell to the distant pavement below. He then whipped around and saw the last Hellbringer get a taste of Flora's Djinn, grinning seeing the faux messenger fall as well.

But his grin quickly faded as he tried to sense Flora, forgetting the Djinn around him he whipped around searching for a hint of her power ... but he got nothing. Every second that passed he grew more frantic until finally he shouted out her name many times to no avail. It was only when Surf, Bane and Fury made a slow pattern of a heart in the air did Kush realize that they knew something.

All three Djinn drifted slowly past the low hanging clouds parting the way with there presence like a blanket being carefully cut to show the ground below. That was when he saw the crater, it was no more than fifty feet and had taken out the town square. But what he felt was what made his heart go numb. Kush felt her, but it was like sensing a newborn since it was so fragile.

As if in a nightmare was playing right before him Kush descended on the crater, his heartbeat becoming louder as he drew closer to the site. Upon finally landing on the ground his wings disintegrated into his body and he ran the rest of way screaming at the top of his lungs "FLORA!! FLORA!!!!" He leapt over the teeth of jagged earth and slid down the slight slope of the crater, when he finally reached the center he felt his body and heart stop.

She was broken in every sense of the word. Her clothes where battered, torn and dirtied, and from where he stood just by looking at her Kush saw at least a few broken bones. Just for a moment Kushluk was like he was back at the battle of Mogall's Dike. He couldn't think nor breath, he couldn't even believe what he was seeing. It was only when he saw Flora's chest rose slightly to wheeze for a breath did he he finally come back to reality.

The Shimazu bolted to her side, gently examining her wounds and confirmed his fears of the many wounds and broken bones she had, thankfully though she was breathing albeit it was shallow and coarse. The pieces of shattered ice around soon melted and it became evident that to Kush that they were Flora's wings that now lay shattered. Did that mean she lost her powers, well that was last thing on his mind.

Kushluk began by placing placing his hand on her pale exposed skin, feeling the coldness that seemed to emit from her body. He then closed his eyes and concentrated, connecting consciousness with Weyward. Kush asked asking if she would aid him, and thankfully she agreed by sending the essence of life through the charred soil, through him, finally going through his arms and into Flora.

The wounds seemed to heal and Kush slowly and gently set the broken limbs and bones ignoring the sickening cracking of realignment. If there was any pain to had Kush hoped the energy from Weytard dulled it, once done he carefully picked the former messenger's body up in his arms. After using his pysenergy to make a comfortable patch of dirt through the charred ground he laid her down in a comfortable position. Her weapon Visse was still clung to her side but it was at an awkward angle that had caused her left leg to twist into an awkward angle. He carefully removed Visse and set it to the side of them, careful not to damage the blade.

Then he waited, tending her wounds and waiting anxiously. When the sound her steady breathing reached his ears it was enough to make the Shimazu's eyes began to tear up. And when her eyes opened Kushluk couldn't help but run his hands through Flora's red hair as he gazed into her eyes .... but her eyes of golden light had dulled. The power she had must of left her somehow in the battle above. But he still loved her and that only made his voice crack as he asked softly "Flora, Flora can you hear me love? It's me .... it Kush." She only looked straight up to the darkened sky as if lost in thought or pain.
