Cid is a machine fanatic. He can drive any machine that you can lay before him. He lives in Rocket Town, and was a former employee at Shinra when they had a project to travel to outerspace. This was Cid's life long dream to travel to a place where no other man has been to before, but something happned and the trip was cancelled. Ever since, Cid has been living in that town, just waiting for Shinra to re-open the space program.

I always loved Cid. He's my favorite male character in the game. He entertains me and I like his limit break too.

he is funny but not enough ppl like him imo!!!!! he had da highwind which is 1 of da most useful things in all ff7. if the characters didnt have da highwind then it wuld have been much harder for them!!
and da tiny bronco too, that was useful.

Nah I don't think he should have his own game. His whole life wasn't indepth like Cloud's is.

Cid is old enough to have had his own mini-adventure. Perhaps a game about his past, maybe he used to be a detective. Detective games are cool.

Oh, I was just thinking the same the other day watching Velvet Revolver Latin America Documentary, Matt Sorum sure looks like Cid.

I have always been a fan of Cid. He is probably one of the better balanced characters in his popularity in that he fulfills so many precepts so well.

Personality wise he is inherently amusing. He is uncouth, direct and has some of the funnier mannerisms in the game. This is of course offset by his rather touching relationship with his wife... err... Shera I think it was. Resenting her but secretly resenting himself? It says so much about his character. It makes the development of a lot of other characters (Barret, Vincent, Red and Cait in particular... even Tifa to a degree) seem pretty damn watery. Few characters have such a consolidated personality, and perhaps more significantly, a good rationale for why they are that way.

Battle wise he is pretty straightforwardly useful. Although not spectacular, his weapons are fairly useful. Probably one of his more straightforward drawcards are his powerful limit breaks. He was certainly a regular in my group by the end. I also happen to think he looks cool, but that is just me. His fighting in AC is actually pretty cool too, where his role as a Dragoon seems more straightforward.

Cid's role in the game is interesting. Obviously he is the last character you get (potentially), and despite that he quickly goes on to overshadow most of the others. In particular this is aided by his role as leader in disc 2; although I liked playing as Cid, was I the only one that found it strange that Barret was passed up when it so obviously fit him? Particularly since Corel was involved. Regardless, this made Cid's all the more prominent a role, something that only Cloud and Tifa can claim post disc one.

Cid is fairly consistently represented in post VII crossovers and expansions. His KH1 persona was pretty straightforward, and his expanded role in KH2 was also the same (as opposed to people like Cloud and 'Leon'... even Aeris now that I think about it). His persona in AC was what is expected, and his lack of outfit change was more endearing than it was for Vincent. That is perhaps one of Cid's better strengths: he is so strong a character that even retcon hasn't had any apparent effect on him, lol.

So yeah, hoorah for Cid. He gets my vote.
