I dunno if anyone else agrees with me, but I reckon she's great! THAT's the sort of emotion Aerith needs. She's a flirty, cheery funny character. Mena doesn't portray that. >_>

(I got a laugh out of this part:
"So you're the one who saved me?"
"No, not really. All I did was 'hellooo', 'helloooooo'"
She did that really well ^^)

Well, it's definitely better than Mena's voice, but it still lacks that "emotion" that Japanese VAs put into their characters.

Actually, Mena's voice in Advent Children sounds better, imo.
Of course, the japanese dubbing is always the best.

Did anyone else here laughed at how Both Zack and Cloud fell into the church the same way, only this time Zack requested to date her, while Aeris made that request to Cloud, oh the irony.

I stopped half way cause i don't want to spoil anything, but Aeris voice is alright. But why is her voice in English and Zacks in Japanese i just don't get it.

The fan chose to only do Aeris' voice becuase she is a girl.

You heard Zack's English voice in Advent Children.

Anyways, the fan did a really nice job. It is better than Mena in my opinion. The fan gave more emotion than the actual voice actor XD

I thought Mena did a good job with Aeris in AC, tbh. When you think about it, there weren't really any scenes in which she had the opportunity to put 'emotion' into her voice. I thought the 'You see? Everything's all right' was done as good as it gets. She sounded very 'Aeris-y' to me. Then again, the 'fandubber' has done a better job in this scene than Mena, imo. But perhaps Mena does a better job at fulfilling just what the director is looking for? Tone differences, etc.

What's the deal with Aeris in FF7 and I think in Kingdom Hearts, she's called Aerith, what's up with that?

Oh yeah, there's a FFX Letter Battle on the FFX thread, is there one on here? If not, we should definitely start one.

It goes like this.

I say a word like "Cloud- the main character in the game".

Now the next person makes a word that starts with the last letter in the name, in this case "D"

And in this case where it's two words, you can choose either ending letter, "H" or "E".

Mena AC > Fandubb > Mena in KH2.

Wouldn't changing the voice actor at this stage be pretty meddling anyway? Fans have learned to recognize Aeris through Mena's voice. There were scenes in AC in which you would only hear her voice, and see very little of her. Switching Mena with the dubber will be as frustrating as the change of Dumbledors in Harry Potter, to some.
