So who prefered a Cloud-Aeris pairing? Aeris was well on her way to 'bettering' Cloud in that Rinoa-like way, whereas Tifa seemed to be there to support him. I prefered an Aeris pairing in my first playthrough, though now it only feels right to have a Tifa pairing, especially after seeing how it ends out between them.

At first, Aeris seemed to be a much better person for him, as he didn't really start becoming more "friendly" until after he fell through her roof. xD

But I think Aeris belongs with Zack more, and Cloud and Tifa ended up being good for eachother after she saved him and they became closer.

There is a part of me that really thinks that Cloud and Aeris should be together. Poor Tifa, I get the feeling that Cloud will ALWAYS be thinking of Aeris, even if things do work out for them.

As for Zack, He and Aeris really do belong to eachother, and I am all for it. Thing just don't turn out as you hope of plan. But all in all, I am with Ray_Masamune on this. Aeris with Zack, and Cloud with Tifa. (like I said, poor Tifa may always be second to Aeris in Clouds mind though)

Well, I always thought (and I keep thinking) that she (Aeris) was the first one to see the real Cloud (even before him), after the Nibelheim accident.

This ain't no proof or anything, but to me it means something. =P

It's all a pretty sad love triangle. Cloud had feelings for Aeris (imo), and Aeris probably felt the same (but couldn't possibly be with him as he reminded her of Zack), and Tifa had feelings for Cloud. It's upsetting, really. It only seems fitting that none of them were ever together... but yes, poor Tifa. That much is agreed. She would gladly be with Cloud, but methinks they both know that the lingering feelings for Aeris will interfere in some way.

Some may think that at the end of AC, once he got over his guilt, he was able to have closure. What are your opinions on that? NOW will he and Tifa live happily ever after?

Personally, I am thinking not. He will always have lingering feelings for her. Even if he no longer feels guilty for letting her die.

I think he will always remember her and cherish her, but that he's not held back from the world by his guilt anymore.

I think now he can finally open up and perhaps find time and love for Tifa.

But they made him so emo in AC though, that it's a little difficult to imagine. xD

I can't imagine Tifa and Cloud getting into a relationship unless Tifa is a little more forceful in getting her point across. Because I can't see Cloud insigating anything himself, and surely Tifa must realize that her "usual" methods aren't working.

As for Aerith and Zack ... I've always thought that they belonged together. Sure, Aerith might have been interested in Cloud, but I reckon she was always waiting for Zack in the back of her mind.
... And no ridiculous crappily-written half-assed "official" story like Maiden Who Travles The Planet is going to make me believe otherwise. Aerith always loved Zack the most, and nothing in the entire compilation proves otherwise.

I have always believed that Aeris had a more motherly/ sisterly love role for Cloud. This isn't even just based on AC, which more or less confirmed it in my mind, but because of the way she often seemed less interested in getting his affections and moreso in getting him to express himself, which seems a lot more like a motherly role, to me. She urged him forwards, like she was teaching him to fly.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Maiden Who Travles The Planet is a load of crap. It was designed purely to keep the love triangle thing going, despite the fact AC does such a great job of putting the debate to an end (well, in my eyes, anyway...).

Zack was pretty confident and in control by his death. I don't personally take much of the compilation into consideration when saying this, but I think that he and Aeris, based on his FFVII persona, would make a good couple, if only because she probably wouldn't need to be so condescending to him. Cloud was pretty childish after all.

heh, A mother to cloud.... Oh wow. That thought never crossed my mind. I am not sure I would go that far. but then again, who knows. I think she thought she loved him. But that was because he reminded her of Zack so much.

I think Aeris did have feelings for Cloud, but was more sisterly-like towards him, and also, I think she knew that Tifa had feelings for Cloud as well.

I agree with torebaa that Zack and Aeris' personalities are much better for eachother. Both of them are upbeat and outgoing.

Whereas both Cloud and Tifa are a little bottled up.

Cloud was inbetween the two personality-wise in FF7, but in AC, he sure took a nosedive. xD

haha, yeah, AC was all about emo-cloud. I remember him being a bit more silly in the game. I guess the death of someone as AWESOME as Aeris can do that you ya. lol
