I've read that thing before, and I've got to admit, the dude has very good points, but I don't think he mentioned anything about why Sephiroth couldn't recall who Cloud was. If Sephiroth was indeed in control the whole time, why didn't he know who Cloud was when Cloud asked him?

I actually had thought up a damn good theory to why Sephiroth didn't remember Cloud that tied in with that theory, but I didn't write it down, so when I woke up I had totally forgotten it

I'll have to play FFVII again.
Maybe I'll remember it then.

Oh, then I guess the flawless theory that proves Sephiroth was in control the whole time has some holes in it.

The mystery continues on who the true FFVII villain is!

Maybe Sephiroth/Jenova opened it?

Everyone now believes that Jenova was braindead...

She was sealed by the ancients. If her mind was dead, she would be dead. She wasn't.

I think Jenova's mind was still somewhat alive, but was simply taken over by Sephiroth, as Sephiroth gained knowledge in the lifestream and his will grew stronger.

I don't understand why the door was open. Why would Sephiroth or Jenova want to release cloud? It just don't make sense.

I believe that Sephy wasn't ever trying to destroy the planet... but he was planning on hurting it that badly. If anyone remembers, he said in the Temple of the Ancients that once Meteor hits, he'd be at the North (in the coccoon, of course) which is where all the energy would start to gather. His physical body would finally die, and then he'd gather energy, becoming a God.

I don't believe a word of it.

Mostly because Squeenix have confirmed it themselves that Sephiroth was the one in control the whole time.

Hmm.... so Jenova is basically brain dead, but Sephy can still use her? I don't really see how that can work.

wats wrong with this is that sephiroth never actually knew cloud before. sephiroth knew zack. ur mixing it up (we've all been there)

He might not have forgotten his face, but he didn't know his name... did he?

He could have known Cloud's name, he could not have, I don't remember, but Sephiroth wasn't asking for Cloud's name. He said "Who are you?" as if he never seen Cloud before in his entire life.
