Yeah, now that I think of it, They do deserve to be remembered as honorable people. Its a shame they died. They were the true Avalanche members, and they deserved to see Cosmo Canyon...

Damn right. I thought so too... At least Jessie was smart, not a wimp like Aeris, or a bimbo like Tifa... Or... an annoying thief like Yuffie.

The general view is that Biggs (or Wedge, I always get them mixed up) would have made a better leader for AVALANCHE than Barret, who acts too rashly, and mostly out of a grudge against the Shin-Ra. I don't know if that's true; Barret's a decent enough pack-leader until Cloud shows up.

You know, when Jessie was introduced, I really thought Biggs and Wedge would survive a game by Square, for once. A third member; a girl no less, that'd make it harder for them to get killed off so easily! But, no.

Biggs and Wedge appeared first in Final Fantasy VI, a continuing tradition that they also appear in later games. But hey, they were the first Avalanche members.

It was to bad they were cut so soon in the game, it would be fun if they made it least until they were out of Midgar, would be fun to see how Jessie was going to give Cloud and gang a new identity for either... Getting in to Shinra when they are going to save Aeris, or if they could identify the guy in the pipe maybe? jk
But still, they would have been a great part of the story further on.

But that's what makes this game so realistic, cause death is a part of their life, they said there were so many people dieing under the plate. And when someone put their neck's out, of course someone is going to die. It's so realistic in it's own way ^^

in ff7 they're members of AVALANCHE, in ff8 they're soldiers (galbadian?), in ffx and x-2 they are blitzball players.

Yea the deserve soemthing they were what kept avanlache alive. Jessie and Cloud could of had something going on later on in the game if she survive.

hm...i wonder how long Avalanche had actually being going on before Cloud joined, i dont think it mentions it in the game tho

I was surprised that Biggs and Wedge weren't seen as Zidane's fellow-thieves or somesuch in IX, but hey. In FFVI, they were the generic imperial soldiers (yes, well done, Square) that accompanied Terra, in her opening-sequence. You can control them briefly, but don't expect them to be of extreme value :}
They're also in Chrono Trigger, along with a third nondescript character, Piette - although they're not very significant as such. I guess that's just what they're doomed to.

AVALANCHE had been going for at least a couple of years, Barret mentioned how it was formed in Cosmo Canyon, after they'd given their own spin to the knowledge of the Elders.

In truth, As much as I would kind of like to see how things would be if they survived, the story might be ruined. The fact that they died might have been that big push that made Barret,Cloud, and Tifa go inot SHinra Headquarters, and it also made the story a little better, knowing that people die, so that it seems like a more realistic game. It also made you want revenge more, which means good since you'll enjoy playing all the more just to get revenge on Shinra... just like many want revenge on Sephiroth for killing Aeris.
