Nah, not for me. Big Swing only did about 5000HP damage, but if your character has a Mystile equipped, it'll usually miss anyway. When he countered with Ultima, and it hit, that was what did the most damage for me.

I never had a problem with Big Swing, I hated those little things that popped up behind me though, because the only way to not get poisoned and get other status effects on me is to have a ribbon equipped, and I don't think that you can get three of them.

Yep you can get as many Ribbons as you like. One from the Temple of the Ancients, and the rest from morphing the Tonberrys in the Northern Crater.

Ruby will also use Comet 2 sometimes, to cripple you at the end. Not very friendly, by any measure.

I always kill the Tentacles. I do that cheap trick, where you mime Knights of the Round on Ruby Weapon, then the Tentacles, then Ruby Weapon...

It's effective, but oh-so-very cheap, so I usually just kick Ruby's ass with pure, brute strength. And lots of quick thinking.

When miming, make sure to mime with hades though. Gotta freeze that oversized lobster.

Whoa whoa now wait just a minute, i have a FF7 stragy guide in front of me saying and i qoute "As far as HP goes, the Emerald WEAPON has around 700,000 hit pints and you only have 20 minutes to destroy it." So your telling me my origanal couctlations were wrong? I fugured i could kill him with around 6-8 Knights of the round. Damnit i dont think they can take that kind of punishment. Well back to the drawing board....

This is why people shouldn't read guides... it's WRONG wrong as wrong could be wrong... oh yeah,.. it's wrong...
Anyway... it's wrong(i'll stop now)his hp is 1,555,550

that would be the Japanese dics battle only exlcusive monster known as SAPHIRE(sp? bah) Weapon...

yeah... that's one of the only major differences in the 2 versions
