Well IMO the Destruct materia is pretty much crap. The only reason I keep it around is cause I got it from Sephiroth, and it sounds cool

There are so few enemies in the game that actually use barriers, and Death hardly ever works, and is pretty lame when my group of level 60's can destroy pretty much any one regular enemy (granted there are exceptions, like the dinosaur thing in the North that has 33333 HP) with regular attacks.

I don't even bother de-barriering Safer. KOTR kills him easily, barrier or not.

I cant stand waiting for the KOTR cinimatics to end, by the time KOTR finishes up, I could probably have killed any version of any standard boss several times over....

146k dmg over 1:30 seconds isnt worth the effort.

My meteo knight build does much more dmg, in about the same amount of time.

A counter attack build does more dmg, in much less time.

A limit break mimer does more dmg in much less time.

4xcut on 3 characters + counter materia's, couner magic, counter attack does WAY more dmg in WAY less time.


There are too many good builds out there to waste my time with a 1:30 seconds of the same video sequence over and over, you know what I mean?

It takes an immense amount of time to master the double-cut materia twice... I don't have that paitence. The only plausable solution to actually being better than KOTR is something like Ultima + Quadra Magic, Ultima + Magic Counter, and having something nasty in your weapon like Hades + Added Effect and a generic ol Counter Attack materia, and Command Counter + Deathblow, so if everything pans out right, when somebody smacks you, you cast 4x Utlima on them, smack them with a counter attack and a deathblow, with each of the latter 2 attempting to dish out all the crap Hades has. Maybe tack a third Ultima onto an MP absorb to get some of your MP back...

fighting.
