Contributing WiiWare game titles

I know a few of you were asking earlier about how we could differentiate game titles designed for distribution via the upcoming WiiWare platform, as opposed to the normal retail boxed channels. After some discussion with Redemption and tekmosis, our current solution is to introduce "WiiWare" into Neoseeker as a games publisher.

Many of you have already suggested that WiiWare be added as a whole separate console platform (or better yet a "sub platform" for the Wii), but Redemption does not have the means to easily do so at the moment. Adding WiiWare as a publisher can be seen as a compromise as sorts that will allow us to keep WiiWare games under the Wii platform itself, while still giving us the opportunity to tie all the WiiWare games together somehow. Here's a quick list:

http://www.neoseeker.com/Companies/profiles/WiiWare/

So if you wanna contribute some WiiWare profiles to Neo, please select WiiWare as a publisher to get the profile to show up on that list!

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, here's the place to voice 'em! Thanks for your patience.

re: Contributing WiiWare game titles

By WiiWare do you mean like titles for the Virtual Console? (i.e. games that were made onto the NES/SNES/etc. and ported onto here) or am I missing the boat? I apologize if this is confusing and if this is wrong, I will delete this post. Thanks for reading.

WiiWare are like games released for the Wii but only through the Virtual Console such as,

-Pokemon Ranch
-Lost Winds
-And many more..

Also I think the term WiiWare applies to anything you download for the Wii (i.e. Channels)

Ah, I see. So if I'm submitting a game that was originally made from the NES but ported to the Wii, I put WiiWare as a developer/publisher? The only reason I really am confused is because I submitted such games in the last couple of days and most of them have been accepted so far but I didn't put WiiWare as a developer/publisher.

re: Contributing WiiWare game titles

I'm pretty sure WiiWare refers only to titles that are exclusive to the Wii. The stuff you're talking about is simply Virtual Console titles.

Games that were originally on the NES retain their original publisher/developer as far as I know.

True. All details about the "remakes" should remain the same as their previous ones. No new data was added to the game and WiiWare titles are developed exclusively by various developers with lesser budgets(usually).
