Haven't started fighting them, yet. I'm right before Spiral Tower. Can't go down because I lost my console. I still have the saved game, so... I'll try once I get it.

Yes, that's correct is not near Diablo Pillar. Another Location or maybe the same.
From the Northest part of Holst Island trace a Horizontal Line to "111sveil Island", just look in the middle, "Skid Lancer" is the only enemy there

Okay...here's where it is. Go to the South-eastern-most island on the map. It's the island where it looks like a Meteorite hit and you later can find a Medium there. Start on the Eastern coast of it and head East. The Skid Lancer is somewhere around there. If you cross over to the West side of the map, you've gone too far. It's in the South-eastern-most part of the map.

I'd equip the Odd Sandals to increase monster encounters and just cancel every battle until you see the Green Exclamation mark (it should be noted that you only see the green exclamation point if you have the PORTABLE monster album that you can check wherever you go from the menu which you get using the Coupon).

Anyway, that's where the Skid Lancer is. It's a big squid-like thing. It's not that hard to encounter it, you just have to know where to look.
