How do FFT and FF7 fit together?

If Cloud ended up in Ivalice when he fell into the lifestream, could not the same be said for Sephiroth? If this is possible, then perhaps Sephiroth fathered a child there? And in years that would follow could that line yield the Marquis Elmdor, the "Silver Ogre"? Just things to make you think. What do you think?

Yes, the creators stuck Cloud in there as a way to appeal to fans. Take this example, for instance:

That's just the sort of thing producers were hoping for. You can applaud on your own time.

As for your other thought, very nicely done, Jason. I was ready to say the same thing: perhaps his journey to Ivalice is after the events of FFVII as a whole. The idea about it being the Promised Land was one that struck me as a "[ why the hell didn't I think of that? ]" sort of... thought. That may clear up why Aeris is there as well. Notice that she didn't recognize Cloud, though, while Cloud certainly recognized her. Being transported there by the Jenova cells was another interesting thought. I think the possibility of Jenova being a Zodiac monster is liable, since she was a mysterious, ancient being. It may just have turned out that the Cetra of FFVII were the Zodiac Braves, or potentially their followers (since Jenova was never actually a Cetra). What Zodiac stone do you think she could represent if my theory were to be implemented? Looks as if she could just be Libra, the judge.
