cannot become a samurai or ninja please help!!

Hi? I started playing this game not too long ago, I really enjoy the game but I ran into this weird problem and I was hoping some of you FFT veterans could help me with this.


In the game, I'm at chapter two and got a little further than lionel castle.

I've got Ramza as a knight and my party includes a monk, thief, wizard and priest. Most of them are at lv 9~10 and I've got a good amount of JP from doing a little bit of "encounter" battles.

I think I meet all the requirement but when I go to the job screen for Ramza(lv.9 knight), I don't see samurai as one of the options. The same thing with thief.(can dual to lancer but doesn't even list ninja)

My wizard can become a time mage anytime, my priest, an oracle and my monk is just collecting some JP before switching to Geomancer.

Ramza has about 800 GP just sitting there, and he can't switch to samurai for some strange reason.(he can become a monk though) And I don't know why the system won't let the thief change to ninja.

This game confuses me on many levels.. ther's other stuff I can just ignore but I know I need to really understand the job class system, so I don't get screwed later on in the game.


Could you guys please shed some light on this?
