Final Fantasy related.

Awww. I liked FF3/6 the best. I still remember the SNES days. 13 now. Oh well...

it got me hooked up on all types or rpgs
after that try downloading free oldschool ff games as timu said. ff1 is the most basic so you should defenitely see it to know how ff has advanced over the years.

i think ff9 is like an intro for those who still do not know the basics of ff.
i think ffx & ff8 is suped up version of ff,which explores more on action and interaction than strategy.
i think ff1,ff2,ff3,ff4,ff5 are most genuine and stay true to the whole meaning of ff gaming.

I believe this is a repeat thread (highly likely) BUT, I'll respond anyway.

Though some don't take it seriously, FF9 was an interesting title. You may want to try that one out. Don't let the perplexingly odd story scare you, you should definately pick this up before it becomes hard to find...

FF4-Best early Final Fantasy. Hard to find, though. Buy Final Fantasy Chronicals instead, it's a package on the PSX with Chrono Trigger and FF4.

FF5-Horrible story, but it was the first to introduce the job system. FF5 is a test of ones RPG skills. I boasts the hardest final boss battle in the game, so be ready for that challenge amoung dozens of others...Available on the PSX within the Final Fantasy Anthologies package.

FF6-One of the best. Rivals, even equals FF4 in terms of story. BUT, it does copy off of the Star Wars franchise story-wise in the beginning of the game, and if you know this before you play it, it's painfully obvious during the game, sorry for ruining your fun. Available on the PSX within the Final Fantasy Anthologies package.

FF7-Second only to Tactics. First to bring the Final Fantasy series to a Sci-Fi genre. Be sure to check it out, you won't regret it. Some say it has the best story of them all, and I'm very close to agreeing on that.

FF8-Horrendously done, a crap heap of a game (when compared with other FF's, it's quite good if compared to any other RPG out there) The only good thing that can come out of your adventure with FF8 would be fantasies of seeing Squall getting impaled by Seifer. It's a shame, because the game has some interesting gameplay concepts THAT NO ONE WILL FREAKIN UNDERSTAND UNTIL THEY'RE VERY FAR IN THE GAME like Junctioning, and leveling up your GFs. The gameplay falls under it's own weight, and the story is god awful. Buy it only if you want to complete your Final Fantasy experience.

FF10-Well...the story stinks, but the gameplay is ingenious. The summoning system and the character voices are particulary interesting.

i suggest you start with FF6 (3 in america {which i have too})

then move on to 9, then finally 7. cause it took me awhile to get used to 7, what with its complex spell learning system (but then again FF6 had complicated Spell learning too).

oh well..

the clock puzzle was one of the funnest parts of the game! wandering around not knowing where to go, trying to find out what "wasnt" on the clock, good times...

i hated kefkas tower! i just got back into FF6, and i got stuck here, yet again! i cant remember how to get past it...

Which Kefka's tower, Olan? The one that you need an airship to enter (the final dungeon?) or the one with the Gem Box at the top?

Yes, the same one I'm referring to. It's called Fanatic's Tower, not Kefka's Tower though.
