First Cars |
|
What path did you take in the beginning of your GT2 career? Use this thread to describe which cars you bought and what you did to them in those first few days of playing the game.
As for myself, I started with a used red 4WD Toyota Celica. I won the Sunday Cup with it and used the money for a stage 1 turbo and racing muffler among other upgrades. I used the Celica on various races until I had about CR 70,000. Then I bought my beautiful yellow Nissan Skyline V-spec with a stage 2 turbo and a few mods. That Skyline is my current car to this day, but it now has nearly every upgrade available. ------------------- .:shoeboy:.

I bought a Honda Civic and a Celica, as my first 2 cars. I won the Sunday Cup, then upgraded them both till they wouldn't any more. Won a lot of races, sold my celica got my Civic to a 289HP. Brought a Skyline GTR, won a lot of races, upgraded, brought a Skyline GTR-Vspec won alot o0f races upgraded till 700HP. Sold won cars (HKS Drag, Nismo, Sklines, Lancers). Bought a penzoil, sold it. Bought a Escudo and thats what I have till now.

i've started again a few times. My first time back when i first got the game i started with the predictable supra turbo. After that i have started with a celica GT4, and a Honda Prelude VTEC. The Honda isnt quite such an obvious winner as the other 2 with 197hp but its still quick for less than 10 grand. I'm starting again soon and i hope to get something old and cheap and have some cash left for a turbo... update coming soon!

Cheats! What is the point of a game if you cheat. By cheating, you are taking away the challenge of playing the game right. Which I believe is the point of the game.
And on another note, I believe that I am correct in saying that discussing gameshark-related cheats (I don't know if you are) is strictly prohibited by Neoseeker. ------------------- .:shoeboy:.

is it? thanks for that shoeboy i'll have to remember that.
there is little point cheating on gran turismo or any driving game for that matter. with talent and skill, which can be aquired thru practice, gran turismo games should not prove too difficult to beat in the way they were intended. i do inend to use gameshark but not to cheat thru the game, just to make funny cars (i.e. 700hp mini etc) and that is the last i shall say about that before i get kicked off hehe ------------------- Me likey horsepower! Well I think you're fine until you start posting codes or methods for using the gameshark. Talking about the outcome of the cheats, I believe, is alright.

anyay, back to the subject at hand
the first time i played i started with a supra 3.0 turbo (the older one) with 236hp as i didnt know how hard or easy the game was gonna be. i dont remember exactly what came after that but it may well have been the silver Vspec skyline R34 which was one of my earliest cars. i also had a venturi atlantique 300 quite early on which was the car i used to get the the GT40 race car. from then on it was easy as the GT40 is one of the best cash winners in the game! couple of runs and sells and you could tune up anything you want pretty much! restart number 3 coming up! gonna try to start with the mazda 323 sedan but it may turn out to be a bit too pants to start off with... may have to be one of those dodgy old skylines or perhaps... yes... an mr2 1600 circa 1986. perfect. i'm also going to see how much of the game i can complete using only cars from 1990 and before! if you have a look down the list of all the cars and then see which ones originated from 1990 or before it cuts down the list quite a bit... wish me luck...! re: First Cars |

Starting off with a Honda Civic is a really good Idea while playing GT2. The car has some speed, turning, and could be really good when tuned till 289 HP and played in the 295HP races. On the Toyota Celica, I think its a real crap car, first of all, I really think its ugly, second it doesn't have speed which will make you haet it. (I didn't even think off adding Turbos to this looking at its speed)

By my 2nd start I was getting all gold for the B-Lincence and I won the Spoon S2000!!!
It beats all the national races, and with the prices money I tuned this car...and won more and more I think this is the best possible start

Wow. I might have to try that with the Spoon car. That sounds like an awesome way to start. It would be even better I you got all golds on the higher licenses before you bought a car. Just think, starting your first race in a Toyta GT-ONE. Now that would be some unfair fun...

too right, dont you just love entering those free early races (like sunday cup etc) in a 500hp lancer evo or something similar. we're talking take the piss faster than the rest of the field. try to get a nice long race if possible, maybe test course, so you can see how many ppl you can lap! great stuff.

for the moment i'm just satisfied to pass them all.
anyone find that the very first liscence test (the one where you have to stop in the area in a really pants car) takes you 10 attempts and the rest take 1 or 2 max? ------------------- Me likey horsepower! Me likey horsepower!
