Malek didn't INTENTIONALLY fail the council but the Vampire Vorador smashed in the back of his head with his sword hilt. He was then damned By Mortanius. Where abouts did you hear Maleks name mentioned? I didn't hear it and that was my favourite part of the game.

In the room where raziel's tomb is,there is the names of all the other vampires .It says Malek on one and on another it says Turel .Malek's is the only one without a casket .

Not really. After all, If he was a wussbag, Kain would have been able to best him rather then having to run away and get Vorador to fight for him. I guess there are some advantages to being Janos' boy huh?

Kain can beat all of the other members of the Circle, but why fight a dude without a body when you don't have to. it must be complex killing something like that.

I think it is more then that. Malek was the Pillar of conflict. His powers of battle would be well beyond Kain's admittedly neonate-ish abilities. Kain fought him as he had no other choice. best him or be dogged by him whenever he approached another menmber of the Circle.

Well put. Malek was also more undead (undeader?) than Kain.

Thanks Tifa. With age comes power. Vorador must have been able to channel immense mystic power. I wish you could actually have a chapter of the Legacy of Kain games starring Vorador. His chracter cries out for more definition.

An intresting Idea. He survived the re-rising of mankind and the slaughter of all other vampires. The final battle being against Malek with alternative endings. Victory possibly resulting in the challenging of Kain, Putting a new Vampirric overlord in charge, Defeat resulting in Malek challenging Kain, losing and the resultant Soul Reaver. Of course it couldn't be simple button mashing to defeat Malek.

Certainly not. Your looking at least at spells, the likes of which are at the very minimum, centuries beyond Kain's abilities. Not only that.... But Vorador also wielded a rather multi-epoch weapon in the original Blood Omen. Is it by coincidence that the black serpentine blade is in the hands of Vorador.

Spells seemed to be an unneccessary timewaster in soul reaver though. They were not needed for the completion and I never used them.

I gwent after and got them all if only for the aspect of exploration and completness. The Sunlight Glyph was worthwhile though IMHO.

I can honestly say that, although I got them, I don't think they were worth the time and effort.
