I can't figure out the controls to use an item when not in battle mode when using the classic controler on wii. I remember there's a way to do it but I went on vacation and can't figure it out now.. it's driving me crazy!!

On the Gamecube controller, I believe you must press either the C-stick or D-pad (can't remember which) in a certain direction to open up the items menu, then select one with the control stick and A.

Or you can do it the long way and press start and then go to the items menu.

In the classic controller, I believe you move the control stick that you don't move with to the left to bring up the items.
