Metalocalypse is an American animated television series on Adult Swim created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha that premiered in August 2006.

The show parodies other "band" and supernatural programs, combining dark comedy and Apocalyptic intrigue in following the exploits of the part-American/part-Scandinavian death metal band Dethklok. The episodes follow the band's everyday life, with a Dethklok song being a common feature near the end of many episodes.

Hands down among the Top 5 of my current favorite airing animated shows on right now. Both Season 1 and 2 are available on DVD and I would suggest picking it up because Season 3 has been renewed and expected to start airing later this year. Dark and morbid comedy featuring just as dark and morbid metal music ranging from resurrecting a lake monster to singing about Mermaids. The show is nothing short of brutal. haha.

I always miss Metalocalypse. It seems to pass by so quickly that I only catch the last 5 minutes or so.

Definitely one of the funniest, not so serious, shows out at the momet. I love how they parody 'brutal' metal bands by being the 'blackest black time plus infinity times two', haha. 'The Duncan Hils Coffee concert was one of the episodes I've seen and it was just great.

I own both DVD sets and watch the show regularly, even though it's just reruns.

The news on my Dethklok LJ comm says that both another album and the third season will be out this November! Zazzy!

I always laugh at that line. That and the thing about all their fans being douchebags, only to be killed by the bodyguards. "Bloodbath does NOT read well in print."

In all honesty the first time I saw this show I HATED it. Really. Like "Ugh, not this shit show again....." I think it was on right before Venture Bros. and I would flip over and be waiting for VB to come on. And then slowly it began to grow on me. Kind of like a fungus. The next thing I knew I was hooked.

Maybe you should give it a little more of a try Skillet - it's toilet humor and nasty, but there are certain social elements in it that are actually kind of brilliant when you think about what is really being said.

LOL, well if they don't I am sure you can always catch it when you are a little older.
