Two things with comics....

1) Buy what you like to read.

2) Be reasonable with those expectations. If, for example, hardcore cosmic is your cup of tea, you're probably going to be disappointed when Bendis does ANYTHING involving infinity gems....

I do too. My problem is I like too many comics.

Or is that really a problem?

Shame to see you cutting Batwoman. As a new reader, I think both her book and comics are excellent.

Something about an angsty grey skinned, red haired lesbian does nothing for me. Can't quite put my finger on it. I had such high hopes for it too.

Hawkman is the most gutting because, well, it's Hawkman. The story has just been....pathetic, to put it bluntly.

The last run came off the heels of the character returning, so it had to continue to establish WHO he was and make sense of the character's past. At that point it'd been something like 5 years since anyone had seen Carter Hall appear in the present and maybe 3 since ANY Hawkman had appeared as that absence is part of what prompted Zauriel's introduction.

Current series I'm liking well enough. But I like the character and creative team. Still wanting some questions answered. Shiera?

It's nice sticking (almost) strictly to Batman-related material.

Although even that can feel overwhelming at times, haha.

OH YEAH!

Seems that Valiant is going to be taking part in the upcoming Free Comic Book Day to help kick off the launch of the return of the Valiant Heroes. Some of you who have been interested in getting in on the ground floor due to launches/relaunches or merely trying things out (walnuts with Atlas and EVERYONE with the new 52 to some degree or other it seems) might want to keep an eye out for it.

Individual series and creative teams haven't been announced yet, but as they've gotten ahold of all the Valiant characters with the exception of those that had been under license from Dell/Western (Turok, Solar, Magnus), there's still a solid roster of characters/concepts to launch series from

So what books and creative teams this go around? It'll be interesting to see.

I can recommend off past volumes, but seeing as how none have had a series in over ten years, and the new creative teams haven't been announced, I can only speculate on which of the upcoming series to try. We'll know more with FBCD in May. Long way off!
