 Topic: Monkey Before Red Mountain?

Hey everyone, this is my first post here, and I've been stuck before the Red Mountain stage for some time. I just obtained the Ancient Light, and I've read some walkthroughs online. They've all said to do a Light Speed Attack on the monkey guard. I did that, but Sonic just decides to circle around the cage multiple times until I press X or B. I have absolutely no idea what to do! Please help! Thanks in advance!

No idea. I just tried looking through some faqs for the answer to help you, but they all say the same thing, to use the ancient light attack on the cage.
