The world can never have too much yaoi... I don't find it remotely sexually stimulating (like yuri), but I like the aesthetic of it in general.
I haven't looked far back, but I like your pretty boy designs. I have found myself increasingly reading Shojo style mangas these days, though its mainly because I like bent romance stories (don't worry, everyone finds it strange coming from me... before I rationalise it). The style is definately nice though, I like that there are actually stories that don't revolve entirely around magical powers (WOMG!), though to be fair the number ain't huge!
I actually prefer the more 'realistic' style you use to the typical moe' (big eyes, small nose) style. I don't remember the term for more anatomically correct manga designs, but I certainly relate to it, though I tend to use a more heavily stylized version.
Reeeeeeeeegardless, I have crapped on for long enough.
I like this recent image. It is a little tame, I must admit, I think mister girly hair, whazzhisname... Kellan, could afford to be a little more affectionate.
Kellan's neck is too short... it makes him look like a bit of a hunchback. Julius is better, in general. You did well with his head, though the lack of sparkle to his eye makes him look a little flat.
Also... NEEDS MOAR SHOJO BUBBLES! I hope you get that joke, otherwise I will look pretty damn sad...
Overall, a nice, generic yaoi image. I hadn't actually checked this thread till now, but it certainly seems interesting. I am kind of glad to see a non moe' anime/ manga artist, too. Kudos.

Wow, I haven't been in here in quite a while.
Absolutely love your stuff, Daisy! I really like the new picture, are you planning on ever coloring it in? Anyway, I really, really like Julius' jacket. Very stylish. Wow - haven't seen you around in quite some time! Good to see you!!!!! Actually I attempted to color this several times and it just kept looking worse and worse to me.... it took something away when I colored it. Maybe at some point I will attempt it again, but it will be a while as I am already working on a new piece!!! quote torebaa

Shojo bubbles? Yes, I know what you are talking about... niehehehe.... Yeah, I actually started out with a 'moe' style, because honestly, it's easy to replicate. But as I looked at other artists and what they are doing, I became more interested in doing Anime style with Western flavor. Or Western Style with Anime Flavor! It's the same thing, really! XD Honestly I don't want to be pigeonholed into having to have perfect anatomy or truly realistic features, but at the same time I rather be closer to realistic than to a real anime style, which I find has it's own "rules". I have just started to really settle into things I like and cultivating a style I enjoy doing. But yeah - a rather generic yaoi image, just my friend and I messing around with our pencils on a lazy Saturday afternoon. XD I'll have to swing over and take a look at your stuff!! Thanks for stopping by! (Oh and if you are into shojo, maybe you should check out Hana-Kimi. It's my favorite in that genre!)

I know, right? I've been kind of hiding in my little ToS community for a while now. Lost in touch with a lot of people on the site. ..=(
Can't wait to see your next piece! The coloring for the blonde guy was also really great. Loved the way you made his eyes look, Daisy!

Yeah, so far I am really excited with the new piece I am doing. It's only in rough sketch stage right now, so it will be a while still, but yeah - I'm working on something, so that is good, because I have gone through several inactivity phases to!
And it's ok if you go off and hide for a while, as long as you come back out once in a while! XD

quoteShojo bubbles? Yes, I know what you are talking about... niehehehe.... I know fangirls who have snubbed shojo for lack of them, or at least some sort of glimmer effect whenever someone pretty walks into a room. quoteYeah, I actually started out with a 'moe' style, because honestly, it's easy to replicate. But as I looked at other artists and what they are doing, I became more interested in doing Anime style with Western flavor. Or Western Style with Anime Flavor! It's the same thing, really! XD Yeah, I can totally relate to that. I started out with FFVII style art, which is fairly moe', but moved on to more American styles. These days I hodgepodge ftw. I don't do it much anymore, but my inking style was really western, too. I prefer the hybrid style, personally. Yours is a fine example. quoteHonestly I don't want to be pigeonholed into having to have perfect anatomy or truly realistic features, but at the same time I rather be closer to realistic than to a real anime style, which I find has it's own "rules". Having ordinary look people isn't necessary, but at the same time I think making sure peoples bodies follow basic anatomy (so that limbs are in proportion and the like) is something we definately have to do with our style. Moe' gets away witha bit more, but honestly I find even moe' styles that aren't proportionate annoying. quoteI have just started to really settle into things I like and cultivating a style I enjoy doing.
But yeah - a rather generic yaoi image, just my friend and I messing around with our pencils on a lazy Saturday afternoon. XD It serves you well. I am a fan of the overbearing and ultra relaxed friend throwing his arms over his less then enthusiastic friend (I had a friend who did that to me for ages, I was in the middle of a damn yaoi manga... he did have a girlfriend though, so it wasn't overly creepy). So yeah, hugs from behind is my request. quoteI'll have to swing over and take a look at your stuff!! Thanks for stopping by! No problems. It was quite amusing. quote(Oh and if you are into shojo, maybe you should check out Hana-Kimi. It's my favorite in that genre!) It sounds familiar. I prefer the darker more mature shojo to the strange ones about princesses from different planets sent to earth to steal hearts or that sort of thing. No idea what Hana-Kimi is, but it sounds familiar... I also like Shonen with shojo elements, like Elfen Lied and Evangelion. Thats pretty bent romace though lol

ZOMG! I haven't posted in here for ages! *Hits self* I would comment on the Lestat one ... but you drooled at Stuart Townsend - a.k.a the guy at the top of my "Ugliest People in the World" list. So I'm not sure if you should be commented on. But since I'm such a nice person .... I love the hair on the Lestat pic. The colors are awesome! And his lips look so shiny. If there's something I can't do, it's getting the shading on lips right >_< You've done it perfectly! The background has been underappreciated! I love the moon, the clouds, at the cute lil' stars! As for your recent piccy ... I love Kellen's hair Maybe I have a long hair fetish? XD Julius is soooo a dominating man-whore. XD XD

Oh yeah? XD Oh and Hana-Kimi is more of a romantic comedy about a girl that pretends to be a boy to go to an all boy school to be close to the guy she's in love with. It's like my fave manga lately. quote Gothic Girl

XD XD XD well, my fave Stuart Townsend is the Dorian Gray Stuart Townsend, and often when I see regular pictures of him, I'm actually not all that impressed. XD As for Lestat... I have been really trying hard to work on getting a more 'painted' look than a flat CG, so I love that you liked the extra colors in his hair and yes, I took extra special care when working on his lips..... Oh, and don't worry, I have a male long hair fetish myself, as witnessed by looking around my gallery! XD And Julius is flattered that you called him a dominating manwhore! XDDD He thinks it's funny!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/Deathybunny/Daisy-2HB.jpg Just saw this picture(love the shading and eyes!) and I was wondering, Daisy dear, is that a girl or a very feminine looking man?
Since you only drew him or her from the collarbone area up, I really couldn't tell. x_x I love the mouth as well

Pretty much everyone in my thread is male, just feminine looking. That's what I like, so that's what I draw! XD I have been meaning to draw a girl, just it never seems to happen.
If people want to pretend they are girls, that is fine with me. After all, it's all in what the viewer gets from the picture, right?

lmao, that is gold. You need to do a full on image of it though, complete with pointless blushing and bubbles and stuff. In fact, I might do one like that too lol
Gender bending is always amusing. I read one recently where a guy and a girl had their minds swapped in a freak science experiment gone wrong or something. The guy, as the girl, nearly passes out anytime he sees his now female body naked, but the girl, as a guy, goes on about the wonders of masturbating and the like. It is really amusing.
I also just noticed the image HMg pointed out. I presume it is a pretty boy, since the neck is a bit thick... but I have been fooled before.

You think the neck is too thick on 2HB? Hmm... I didn't think so... the neck tends to start right under the ear..... if anything it might be a bit thin, but I kinda was thinking his head was turned slightly.
As for pointless blushing and bubbles... yeah, that was another quicky I did with my friend... they don't even have names. XD Maybe one of these days I will go back and fool around with them some more, but I doubt it - I try to not spend too much time going back over stuff, because then I never get anything new accomplished! XD

re: Daisy's Gallery of Pandemonium

No I meant anatomically. If you drew a neck that wide (especially in shojo circles) for a female character it would look a bit beefy. You are right though, it seems to get thinner as it reaches the head. He also doesn't seem to have an adams apple, something I only just noticed.
That is fair enough, I tend to start a project, put it on back burner, move to the next, stick it on backburner move to the next, etc. I have several projects going now, each one a different genre. Its my shojo esque ones that I tend to enjoy doing more though.
I was all inspired to do some art today after seeing your yaoi, but it was too hot so I sat around losing weight again...

As for gender bending, have either of you ever read HanaKimi? It's pretty much fluff, and there's no real yaoi since the main character is a girl who is crossdressing(soo, soo cute), but you can always pretend! XD It's one of my absolute favorite mangas. I'm pretty sure that there's an anime out too.
I know that you love to draw feminine men, but I just thought that he topped them all so fabulously that he was a girl.
