Evolution: The World of Sacred Device User Reviews
There's some cool fighting, and interesting characters to choose from. The different places you explore are all unique, altho within themselves they are very monotonous. The enemies are creative too. And of course, there's great graphics. The bad:
Too much fighting, and a system of healing items that makes it hard, and annoying just keeping your party in good health, also many enemies are simply too hard, and all the time, the story simply is too boring and drab. The fighting isn't much fun, and the financial system makes you feel like you'll never make any money.Summary:
In total this game is a bit too frustrating and boring for me, but I'm sure there are plenty of other people who will love the fighting, and the story as well. Don't buy this unless you really think you can take the problems.
enjoyable characters and interactions, Cyframes, nonlinear storyThe bad:
limited development, ongoing dungeon hackSummary:
Evolution represents one of the first forays into the role-playing realm by Dreamcast. The boys at Ubi Soft deliver Mag Launcher and his friends in the midst of an archaeological expedition to recover the legendary Evolutia, an ancient relic of untold power. His parents died before making the discovery, and under the tutelage of Gre, his butler, the local Society recruits him to make the discovery. Thwarted in his quest is Edward, a snotty regal if you ask me, who's equally determined to secure the Evolutia and use its power for... what? You guessed it. Domination, or something to that clic...

Its an RPG.The bad:
Its not a very good one.Summary:
If you own a dreamcast and love to play RPG's, this is not a bad game, but its also not a very good one. It is nothing when compared to skies of arcadia and Grandia II, and it is extremely short, so it won't provide much entertainment. The special moves are lame, the graphics are weak, and it has no real story. If you are desperate for an RPG, pick it up (you can buy it used for 10$ at gamestop) but if you have not yet played Skies of Arcadia or Grandia II, son't even consider this mediocre game.
Funny script, interesting story, good graphics. The bad:
The dungeons are bland.Summary:
I thought this was a good enough game to warrant my buying the sequel. The story is engaging and fun, and some people were put off by the anime style of art used in terms of character design, but I thought it was an interesting changwe of pace. Don't get me wrong, at places, this can be a tough game, so cutesy-poo characters are not a sign of difficulty in a game. Not as in depth as say, Baulder's Gate, but for a console game not bad. But then, for a great Dreamcast RPG, check out Skies of Arcadia, and Grandia 2. Those were excellent...
