This FAQ is for personal use only. It cannot be altered without
the consent of the FAQ's owner (me), nor published in any magazines or any
reproducted form. This FAQ is not meant for sale and is copyright 2000 Red
Scarlet. If you want to use this FAQ on your Website or page, please email me
for permission (akaiscarlet@hotmail.com).
This FAQ was created using NJSTAR, and to view it properly, I would
suggest right clicking the page, then choose 'encoding' and choose Japanese
Auto-Select. That is to view it on a PC with Windows, and since I don't
have a Mac, I have no idea how to do that with them. So, sorry.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recently, I was given the pleasure of playing through Dragon Quest 2
on the Super Famicom. DQ2 was probably the hardest one out of the four
Dragon Quest games released on the NES. The new remake has added and
changed a few things, like the stat-increasing seeds, and giving the
Princess of Moonbrooke a few different spells in her roster. The changes
in the DQ2 remake are far less than the changes put into the DQ3 remake.
As far as I know, the game has removed the ability to do at least two
'cheats'. I could not do the 'get a Staff of Thunder, sell it, save the
game, hit reset, get another Staff of Thunder' one, as you only fight the
boss one time and get 1 Staff of Thunder. Instead of fighting an Evil
Clown, you fight a Mace Master-‚ ‚‚Ü‚µ‚ñ‚©‚ñ-Akumashinkan, instead.
The other 'cheat' that I couldn't do was the way to get two Water
Flying Clothes. I could not get another Magic Loom. If anyone has found a
way to overcome those 2 'non cheats', please email me
(akaiscarlet@hotmail.com), and I will credit you.

                         Menu Screen Translations

First of all, you should know what all the options are when you turn
the game on. They are:

‚Ú‚¤‚¯‚ñ‚ð‚·‚é-Bouken wo Suru (Continue a game.)
‚¹‚Á‚Ä‚¢‚ð‚©‚¦‚é-Setti wo Kaeru (Change message speed; 1 is fastest, 9 is
                 slowest.)
‚Ú‚¤‚¯‚ñ‚Ì‚µ‚å‚ð‚‚‚é-Bouken no Sho wo Tsukuru (New Game.)
‚Ú‚¤‚¯‚ñ‚Ì‚µ‚å‚ð‚¤‚Â‚·-Bouken no Sho wo Utsusu (Copy a game to an open

have the ‚¶‚ã‚à‚ñ-Jumon (Magic Spell) command, as he never learns spells.

‚Ú‚¤‚¬‚å-Bougyo (Defend)
‚Ç‚¤‚®-Dougu (Inventory)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

any additions/changes. Thank you for reading my FAQ and email with any
questions (akaiscarlet@hotmail.com) or if you just want to talk to someone
about Dragon Quest 2.
