Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 User Reviews
Rather long Story mode.
Good graphics for it's time.
Unique Characters, over 100 including transformations.
Get to fly around the map on Story mode like Budokai 3.
Too many generic or fill in attacks.
Most generic moves are the same but with different names or very slight variations.
Fighting becomes very repetitive by about the Buu Saga.
Severely unbalanced and over balanced characters.
Gets too easy once you get the hang of it.
Some minor gameplay bugs.
This game is one of the best Dragonball Z games on the market, 2nd behind its sequel, Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, even better then the 360 and Playstation 3 games. I'll start with the pro's. Very unique way of fighting, unseen in a fighting game before, and very easy to get the hang of it if you know your way around the controller. If you want a good time, and want to impress your friends as a fun game to play, or if you generally want a good game to pass the time, and you like Button Mashing games, this is for you. The most iconic feature of this game is the very long Story Mode. Wh...
Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, from a series of 3 so far. The second game is very much similar to the first and third in terms of regular play, only a few extra characters, stages and little extras.
It features Dragon Adventure, which is the story mode. Ultimate Battle Z, where you start at the end of the list of characters and fight your way to the top. Dragon Tournament, where you battle your way to becoming champion. Duelling, which is where you battle against your friends or computer AI. There's also a feature called Ultimate Training, where you can practice your moves against a cust...
*Had a wide variety of characters
*A decent story mode, get to fly around the map
*Had some good graphics and of course, the free open fields of Tenkaichi games.
*Had some unique attacks for few people
*In Game transformations are back
*Less generic attacks compared to T1 but still have some generic attacks in there
*Too many generic attacks
*Not enough variety of combos
*Not enough facial expression
*The game goes right down hill after you finish story mode (it gets boring)
*No DB Storyline!!!!!
*The game can get repetitive
*The A.I. sucks in this game but A.I.s also get annoying when it comes to spamming rushes
Ok i will start with the Pros. This game has a wide variety of characters ranging from DB to GT. You can choose from 129 characters!!!!!(135 PAL version). This game also has a pretty good story mode as well. You get to fly around and visit cites as well while you are flying. This game has some very detailed graphics especially when it came to attacks and the battle stages increased 1/3 in size from the previous game allowing more freedom into battles.
Unfortunately, there are more cons than pros. First off, too many generic attacks. Around half of the characters have either a Blast Volley o...
.Voice Actors From The Show
Ah...The Dragon Ball Z series. One of the most popular animes in all of the world. All those episodes, all the video games, the comics, the parody's.
Hmm...But this game? It's not so good. I mean, it's okay, but not the best game on the Wii.
So, allow me to explain a little more.
The graphics are okay...They're cel shaded, if I'm not mistaken. I enjoy this style of graphics though, so I find this as a plus. The levels are nicely done, characters look fine. Those are the in-game graphics, but the game graphics when you're not actually playing(such as when you're at a menu) look like t...
The use of about 125 characters (including character transformations) make this a very fun and repayable game over and over.
Unlike Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi which was the first of this series this one allows you to transform during gameplay making it more realistic to the anime.
Tag Team Battles are one of the best thing about this game. They allows for various tag teams and make for some long battle.
Tag Team battle don't allow you to use any "double team" attacks which would allow you to combine to character's attacks at once.
As usual the AI/COM isn't challenging even on the hardest mode. Something should really be done about that.
The plot is pretty much the same as other Dragon Ball Z games so if you've played those you should pretty much know the whole story and what's going on. If not then I'll fill you in:
Goku, a saiyan from the planet Vegeta goes to earth as a baby and when he is an adult he learns his heritage and becomes a Super Saiyan. Throughout his life he encounters various villains he pretty much want world domination and anything related to it.
Those are the basics which are what the game's story mode is about. Of course it has "What-If" stories which are a really great thing in my opinion because they gi...
-Very easy to learn
-The graphics are perfect for a DBZ game
-The largest character roster ever seen in a fighting game
-Great combat system
-Very easy to learn
-Quirky level system
Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and it's predecessor have an original approach at fighting games, and this is the large, open enviroments and third person camera. This opens up an entirely new way of playing the game.
The combat system is nearly perfect, being maybe too easy to learn, yet very hard to master. The sheer amount of moves and combos easily rivals or surpasses any fighting game, and it includes some moves not even shown in the game's command list. One flaw with this however, is the fact that all the combos are essentially the same with each character, which can be kind of repetive, and also...
