Back to Earth, Back to Hell

The good:

  • Soundtrack
  • New level design
  • New storyline
  • An interesting way to finish the game
  • New enemies
  • New weapon

    The bad:

  • Well, the jumping gameplay isn't still included, as a zooming one but it is really important for Doom II?
  • As usual, some secret areas are really hard to find
  • The game is also 15-20 years old, some of you can be bothered by graphics.
  • Save me from this Arch-Vile..... Aaaaargh!

    Summary:

    Doom II: MYTHIC sequel
Doom II is as mythic as Doom (or the Ultimate Doom). It's also the FPS who really did hook me to the genre. Without it, I wouldn't be playing Half-Life, Vietcong, Call of Duty or other FEAR. Without it, my life would have been different and I wouldn't be here on Neoseeker.

But Doom II is also similar to Doom and that's why you shouldn't be surprised to see some familiar words here. Not that I'm lazy but if I already wrote about the gameplay, why not taking the short way?

Just for reminding you, it will be nearly 15 years that I'm hooked to FPS, I was at a turn of my life...

    Brilliant Sequel

    The good:

    30 levels of entertainment
All the previous enemies plus a few new ones
    Super Shotgun

    The bad:

    Huh??

    Summary:

After the incredible success of the first Doom game it was inevitable that ID would release a follow up in the form of Doom II. This game didn't go with chapters, instead it went ahead with 30 straight levels and two secret ones. The game used the same engine and pretty much everything that they did before but decided to include a few new enemies and the Super Shotgun as a new weapon. I can't remember the storyline for this game too well, but all I cared about was kicking some monster butt.

Yet again it's all up to you to save the population of Earth. The monsters have recovered from the ass...

    Doom II

    The good:

one of the first first person shooters, good graphics for the time, nice weapons, awsome gameplay

    The bad:

    gets wild, the last level

    Summary:

ah, lets remember the good ol' days when killing ol' pinky with a double barell shotgun, avoiding Imp fireballs. and, the BFG9000. id kill for the same game, with improved graphics. luckily, there is.but lets focus on Doom II. the wild enemys, the cool weapopns, the great claustrophobia. not to mention the scary part. anyone ever have nightmares? i loved Doom, DoomII, and Doom Aliens. it was history from the start. it had addictive gameplay, and cool goons and weapons. also, remember the humor? you know, the face when you picked up a new weapon, and the famous, a chainsaw, find some meat! l...

    Doom II

    The good:

Improves on the orinal classic in almost every respect - a plethoria of creatures items and weapons amid an abundence of ammunition. You'll never get bored of it.

    The bad:

Many technical cutdown's from the PC original that it was ported from, with no better graphics and precious few extras, it barely feels like a sequal.

    Summary:

Doom is the definitive game - it signalled a change in the games industry, forcing its evolution. A year after the PC release of Doom, its inevitable sequal arrived. And now, a year after the original Doom was re-released on the Game Boy Advance, the sequal comes for its final bullet.

Doom II is the greatest first-person shooter (FPS) that you're ever likely to find on the GBA. Instead of starting again from scratch, it took every element of Doom and improved some of it, to make a marginally better game, and that really does mean its good.

In case you missed the original, Doom's gameplay requ...

    Doom 2 for GBA

    The good:

This game a lot more detailed and more things are added than in the original PC game with really hard and fun challenges. The graphics and movement are nothing compared to the other doom on gameboy advance, with more control and the automap loooks amazing. The new music is also better.

    The bad:

I dont think there's anything bad unless you've played it before...

    Summary:

This game is one of those rare sequels that are extremely better than the original. Pretty much all I said in the good is what the game is. I suggest you rent it or buy it and try it out for yourself! If anyone said it has crappy graphics, they are relating to the first version probably (or are just one of those people who only care for one type of game or mabye they are so bad at the game they can't beat it, but its not that hard...unless your new and play the hardest difficulty). Some things you need to know for this game are how many shots each gun takes to kill things (except for things...

Hell On Earth - Better Than Doom?

    The good:

    Graphics, New Weapons And Creatures

    The bad:

    Nothing.

    Summary:

This game was probably the best First Person Shooter of all time. Hell, if I could find this game I would play it today. I stopped playing the game for like a year in 1999 and then I got a new computer in 2001 and can't find the CD. >_<

Anyways, if you don't have this game or any of the other Doom series I suggest you pick up this game and Doom for the PC.

The graphics on this game are more beefed up than it's father Doom's graphics were which is great.

The new double barrel shotgun is a great addition to the weapon array except it has a longer load time than the shotgun but it's double the ...
