Donkey Konga User Reviews
Totally unique game experience, you won't get this on any other console from any other game. The bad:
After a short while, you HAVE to play with friends. Single player isn't the most long-lived thing ever, and the extra bongos aren't cheap.Summary:
Guys: imagine a music-based game. You're probably thinking of a dance mat or a karaoke game. And now you're thinking "girls game, don't touch". Well lads, there is a macho alternative. And this is it. Not only is a pair of bongos the coolest thing ever to be attatched to a console, the tunes are all great (a selection of old hits, fairly current chart toppers, and classic Nintendo themes).
The basics of the gameplay are laughably simple, and it's here that the game gains so much appeal. The game throws a series of symbols at you. Red circle is the left bongo, yellow circle the right, a pink ...
Good Music Selection, Very Sweet Bongos, Awesome MultiplayerThe bad:
Crap Graphics, Repetative, Not Enough SongsSummary:
Controllers are overrated. I mean, really. Each game for your Cube uses that same controller. Purple or black. Orange or silver. Wireless or corded. It's the same thing. Don't you ever wish you could, oh, I don't know, use a set of bongos? You've come to the right place, my friend.
Donkey Konga (Get it? Instead of Donkey Kong?) is a music game using a set of massive plastic bongos. When you select a song, you either hit the left bongo, the right bongo, both bongos, or clap. Sounds simple, right? Well, it is. But it's more fun than a barrell of... well, monkies.

You get to play with cool-looking Bongos. Decent variety of music. Lots of stuff to unlock. The bad:
Not enough music or variety of songs. Some control sensitivity issues with the Bongos. Single player play really isn't as fun as it could be.Summary:
Loosely based on such popular games as Dance Dance Revolution, Nintendo goes down a different road with Donkey Konga. The game is similar to other rhythm games but it revolves round using hand-sized drums called Bongos, which are played in rhythm to various beats from all kinds of different songs.
The graphics aren't really much of a factor here, but overal they are generally simple. The icons are easy to see and the backgrounds aren't too detailed, which is fine because they are irrelevant to the actual gameplay. Sounds are one of the strong spots-there are lots of unlockable "sound sets" t...
Comes with Bongo drums.
Great fun single and multi-player.
No real storyline.Summary:
Donkey Konga is a great game with a nice style of graphics. This game is all about the music and getting to the rhythm of it with the bongos. The songs are from famous bands such as Queen and some old Nintendo originals such as the Super smash brothers theme tune. The multi-player is really good fun to play and you don't have to play with the bongos although it is a lot more fun if you do. You can customize the sounds of your bongos and many other things on the game. The bongos come with the game so you don't have to go out and try and find them separately. The way the screen is laid out, n...
Good selection of songs
Well constructed drums
Play with friends in a duet.
Good mini games.
Not enough modern songs.
It can take a long time to buy new songs.

I had this at Christmas 2004 and can't stop playing it, it just has the kind of fun that I havent seen from Nintendo in recent times.
It has a very good selection of songs, including 99 Red Balloons and Wild Thing, and can be absolutley frantic at times.
The bongos have four in game functions, Left Drum, Right Drum, Both Drums and Clapping (via a sensor in between the two barrels.
Prepare to be confused, because the games commands can be spaced very close together, but this can be fun sometimes though, because you are constanlty moving.
4/10- What do you expect? It's a music game!
The music in this game is good
The controllers are really cool
It's fun to play with freinds
Some of the songs really suck
You have to buy extra controllers to play the multiplayer
You have to clap and beat your drums. I recomend this game to ppl who like good music and like to beat it. (drums)
