[edit] Background

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 builds on the acclaimed career mode of the best-selling original with the introduction of the “DiRT 2 World Tour”. Alive with vibrancy and colour and packed with attitude, this extreme sports festival takes in nine stunning locations around the world, each with a unique flavour that brings the very best of modern off-roading together into one engrossing, highly personalised racing experience.

Accompanied by 50 drivers, including Ken Block, Tanner Faust, Dave Mirra and Travis Pastrana, players will take part in 100 events, each partnered with some of the smartest brands around. As players travel to the international each location on the DiRT 2 World Tour, they’ll park up at international race festivals that are packed with noise and atmosphere, with hundreds of people in attendance and bands playing live sets on nearby stages.

The action out on the track is hotter than ever too. With peerless visuals and lightning fast racing thrills, Colin McRae: DiRT 2’s drivers will be put through their paces in a variety of contemporary racing disciplines, including rally, rallycross and raid.

[edit] Gameplay

DiRT 2’s garage houses a best-in-class collection of officially licensed rally cars and off-road vehicles, specifically selected to deliver aggressive and fast paced racing. Covering seven vehicle classes, players will be given the keys to powerful vehicles right from the off. In DiRT 2 the opening drive is the Group N Subaru; essentially making the ultimate car from the original game the starting point in the sequel and the rides just get even more impressive.

In addition to the World Tour, DiRT 2 will come complete with full online functionality that will be core to the overall experience, with head-to-head competitive online play and new social features to engage the racing community.

It's that time of year again guy, so you're getting our annual holiday guide. Yes, Neoseeker's Holiday Guide 2009 - Part 1 is now published! But isn't it kinda early for that sort of thing? Hell no, because we're just getting started. As December draws near, we'll be posting the rest of our Holiday Guide piece by piece.

Each time, we'll include hardware and video games our staff gave stellar reviews for. You'll find everything meticulously categorized by use and genre for your convenience. Whether you're looking to reward yourself or for a gift to someone else, our guides should have something to suit your needs! From Halo 3: ODST to Guitar Hero, Uncharted 2 to Pokemon Platinum...

Again, we'll have more guides coming soon. But if you have a product in mind that we haven't covered, go ahead and ask about it. Major holiday titles are also on the way and will no doubt appear in future 2009 guides.
