Digimon World 3 User Reviews
Up to three digimon on your team at a time, but up to 10 digimon in your entire team who can be left at a station when you feel like using them.
A numerous amount of digimon are included, not just the ones you fight but also the ones your digimon can digivolve into. Plus I always liked the ability to DNA a variety of your digimon for much more digimon.
The training system off battles is really easy as well, it doesn't take as long as a regular battle and you can pinpoint a specific area to train for you digimon. Along with your improved techniques Digimon World 3 includes a system in which you can equip your digimon with compatible armor, weapons, and items to improve your digimon's strength.
A card mini-game is also included into the game. While it isn't as expanded as Digimon: Digital Card Battle, I find it suitable and good enough seeing as it was only a mini-game.
Your digimon take a long time to level even when in the small numbers for levels.
I expected it to be a little tougher, in all honesty, I only died/lost a few times against some of the major bosses.
I wasn't to fond of the way you found yourself in battles, walking around in circles to find a digimon just doesn't suit me. I would have liked to see them out in the open and encounter them like that. But I think it may have been due to the size the data the PSX can hold so it was fine.
The story wasn't very interesting as in the Digimon anime, but I think it got through pretty well:
Hackers attack the Digital World on the day you can finally start to train your very own Digimon. Junior (you control him) must now help save the Digital World and possibly even the one one you live in as well.
The thing I didn't like about it was that it wasn't very, Digimon like, the kids don't really go into the Digital World, they get chosen. But on Digimon World 3 that whole concept was removed.
As I said before, you can equip your digimon with certain items to make them stronger. This is a ...
The graphics out of battle are amazing. The 2d character sprites are attractive and look good on the 3d board. The scenery is also pretty good in some areas. The music is also very superb but it gets repetitive fast. It is much more interesting and entertaining than DW2. You can keep your Digimon instead of having to DNA Digivolve them together to get a new one capable of growing higher. There are 8 Digimon in total you can have for partners (including familiar faces such as Agumon, Patamon, Renamon, Guilmon and even the feisty little Veemon an and some new faces as well who are Kumamon, Monmon, and Kotemon) but you only start out with 3 from a starter pack. Later on you can acquire all 8 partners and build your own team. Also the Digimon have many digivolutions to choose from and eventually digivolve into Digimon like Omnimon or Beelzemon. The dialogue and story are so-so. Nothing exceptional here. This is probably the best Digimon game out of the three. Great job guys. The bad:
The graphics in battle are subpar and sometimes they look a little messy and blocky. They could have done better on this. Also the special techniques are a little bland and usually are nothing more than a colored fireball. The difficulty level is unbalanced and often you have to spend most of the game time training. The slow battle system doesn't help much either. Training gets rather tedious but you will thank yourself in the end for taking a lot of time to pump up your partners. You don't really get to customize your team by capturing wild Digimon like you could in DW2. For me this is a little disappointing but it's worth it to be able to keep my Digimon. The 2-on-2 and 3-on-3 battles have been removed from the scene, unfortunately, so this leaves out the element of strategy a little bit. Also this means you have to battle your Digimon one at a time to gain experience(unless you want to go through the hassle of switching partners in-battle). One other thing that would be better is if there would only be certain spots that wild Digimon would appear in, so if your Digimon are badly hurt or tired, you won't have to worry about getting attacked.Summary:
Let's face it--I am addicted to this game. The story may be so-so, but the fun essence of adventure keeps me hooked. It also satisfies me to have powerful, well-raised Digimon. Even if it is boring, it's always fulfilling and rewarding to train these little critters into formidable beasts that can kick any Digi's butt. I recommend at least a rental to any Digimon fan or any fan of RPG/Critter-raising games.
Simply EVERYTHING!The bad:
Nothing, only that maze putted in Gunslinger Weapon.Summary:
This game is the best game ever created for Playstation 1(trust me, i have 104 games). It has lot of cool digimon (like agumon, veemon and guilmon), new digivolutions(like diaboromon and beelzemon).Great weapons and armor, acessories almost the time have great effects, digivolutions can be got by ALL playable digimon,it's battle system is much better DMW1 and DMW2 combined and multiplied by 1000,you don't use a "car" just like in DMW2.Simply,BanDai put everything they've got in other games in this, they've got the best of every game from digimon.Example:they put new digimon from digimon rumble ...
all those not said above!Summary:

THIS GAME IS WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY THUMBS UP!
THANK YOU BANDAI!!...
It's seems that Bandai had successfully created a Digimon game that doesn't totally suck. That may seem a bit harsh, but if you have played either of the other two Digimon World games, you'll understand where I am coming from. I don't want to criticize this game to much, as most of the games coming out for the PSone these days are pure junk, and this one is much better than that. With that out of the way, let us begin.
The gameplay in Digimon World 3 is fairly decent. Instead of being an Adventure/RPG game as in the first two Digimon World games, Digimon World 3 is strictly an RPG ...
