Diablo II: The Lord of Destruction User Reviews

9.0

One of the Best PC RPG's Ever Created

The good:

There are a whole mess of good things about this game that seem to draw attention away from Blizzard's more popular game, World of Warcraft and seem to get people hooked.

The attack system, point and click is a very unique style of playing. Most RPG's these day will use the Turn Base or Character motion of attack, but no. To attack something, you've go to click on it. Maybe this wouldn't seem as good as others would, but it's a way of playing that really doesn't get boring!

The abundance of unique and elite monsters makes you almost scared for your life. Ghostly, Frantic, Champion, Possessed, the list goes on! These monsters help out all others of it's kind around it making it difficult to hurt them. They also provide more money and good items. Using this style of obtaining money and items, Blizzard North made a good move.

The character design of each of the 7 possible characters is amazing! What you look like depends upon what armor you wear, and even if you wear a certain armor on one thing, it looks different on another! The helms give your character a good headset that stands out in the chatroom. Helms can have horns, spikes, wings, and a whole bunch of cool designs.

Monster design is something this game excels in. Each monster type has their own coloring, design, and weapon. The bosses look especially cool looking with their appearance on each difficulty. Andariel is a pale color in Normal difficulty, but blue in Nightmare.

The map generator is awesome. You'll never see a map that's exactly the same, ever. Each new map is differently designed with not just new terrain, but new treasure chests at each corner. You'll never have to worry about replaying the same map again.

The last thing is Hotkey-ing. Simply awesome.

The bad:

Now, there are bad parts about this game.

The biggest issue is online lag. This can be fatal sometimes and it's even worse when you're in a level like The Cow Level where a group of cows can easily kill a Level 99 if theirs a bunch of them. I

The next worse part is spam bots. These will never go away. They'll come in and flood the text area so you can see what's in front of you and will message you when they want to text flood you. It's so annoying to attack an enemy and have a message flood over your character and the monster.

The last horrible thing is the rune finding. It's almost near impossible to find High Runes. You can collect Low Runes and mix them to create higher runes, but it's such a tedious task that you lose interest after a while.

Summary:

Now, this game isn't perfect, such as all games are. However, this game is definitely one of the best RPG's (Role Playing Game) ever. Diablo II: Lord of Destruction is probably one of Blizzard's best expansions to a game they have ever created. Adding in a whole new quest, two new characters, jewels, and runes!

The Assassin
The first character Blizzard added into the expansion. This melee fighter is epic and hard to use at the same time. To use her effectively, you must be able to Hotkey correctly. If not, well, then you're not using her correctly. Being able to deal massive amounts of damage...

Interesting

The good:

This game has online. It's online is a little different then normal games. It is the exact same as the single player, except with parties to conquer the levels. I beleive there is over 200 items alltogether, and many different weapon Sets. After you collect a full set you get bonuses. There are six different classes to choose from, each with their own advanteges and disadvanteges. You can have many charactors, and this experience is awsome.

The bad:

Gameplay can get a bit repeditive at times. You just press buttons to kill guys, and use Magic. And it's pretty easy to get stronger then the guys in the place your at.

Summary:

Diablo 2 is a great game with good online. Playing with your friends, or joining a party has an easy process. Attacking couldn't be easier, witch is a bit of a problem. It's a little too basic at times. If you like long, good story games Diablo 2 is going to be a great pick-up. I reccomend Diablo 2 and Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction, as they are almost the same game.

Better than original

Summary:

Introduction: This game is a whole lot better than the original Diablo 2. It adds a whole new light to a game that had a shadow casted upon it. Without the expansion pack, the game would be worse than it is now, and I cannot play this game without the expansion pack.

Gameplay: 9 out of 10

This is one of its greatest features. The expansion set adds a whole new act in which you are to defeat Baal, the Lord of Destruction. Although you can't do much outside of the quests there still feels like there is a sense of freedom in playing, with the huge maps. The selection of seven characters seems ...

-Diverse characters
-Decent graphic
-On-line gameplay option<br>- Addition of charms

The bad:

-Offline replay value poor
-Not a diverse set of sounds

Summary:

The Good

As anyone who has play Diablo II: Lord of Destrustion can tell you, this game is a great game in general. This expasion adds two characters to the line-up, including the Druid and the Assassin. This makes the number of available characters add up to seven. Each character has a unique set of skills. Each skill tree is divided into three categories, depending on the characters stregnths.

The graphics in this game aren't the best ever seen, though they were superb for the year that this game was released.

Playing on-line via battle.net is what really makes the game great though. You can ...

Non Linear Path, about 500% bigger than the first game.

The bad:

Not much

Summary:

This game is very addictive, it is MASSIVE compared to the first game, and has 7 characters this time, the gameplay ETC ETC is more outlandish to that of Diablos, and theres alot more balance in it, you fight on the surface in 5 different MASSIVE locations across a map, each one being slightly beiiger than the 16 levels of Diablo. You have great quests and you can hire companions, you fight over 300 enemies and have over 75% more items and armor. There is almot 7 times that of the first hit and you can battle over Forests, feilds, tundras, valleys, deserts, caves, cities, swamps, dungeons a...

Great Game, I've been addicted since 1998

The good:

Great graphics, Great gameplay, VERY ADDICTING, great for years of fun, free online play

The bad:

Some people on bnet are a-holes, kind of repetitive, lags if you don't have good computer, and takes a while to get updates from blizzard sometimes, older graphics but still good.

Summary:

This game is so addictings its not even funny, I started playing when it came out, quit 3 times and im back again, there is nothing wrong with this game, besides some people in the community and the occasional hacker. This is the best $40 you'll ever spend on a game, buy the battlechest, even if you don't play isometric action/rpg games, I can almost guarantee you'll love this one. ...
