Chessmaster for the PS2 brings a grandmaster-strength engine, the strongest ever in a console product, to the PS2 console.With opponents of every skill level from beginner to grandmaster, anyone can find a challenge that matches their abilities, or inspiration to become a master.

Along with the most powerful chess engine available on the console, Chessmaster also includes features just for fun. For example, 3D Battlefield Chess sets will recreate the atmosphere of a fantasy battle played on checkered battlefield. View special 3D chess pieces as they attack each other at each move.

Feel like you are playing chess in a dynamic environment, see "news" of your chess opponent or info of your scheduled tournament appear as a short message from the newspaper and see chess personalities change over time.
