Burnout User Reviews
Style of courses
Avoid pedestrian traffic
Special turbo gauge
Poor camera in two-player
Inconsistancy of crashes
Similarity of courses
Burnout is a racing game with a difference. The idea is to be your opponents to the line while dodging other non-racing traffic. Can Burnout stand out from the competition?
Graphically the game is amazing, especially for one so old. The cars themselves so very real and the courses do pretty well too. The sounds are too hot though, with some chessy tunes and only average FX.
Gameplay is the heart of any game and Burnout does well. Tearing along the roads, narrowly avoiding other cars or trucks and then hitting the turbo to gain that small advantage is quite a rush.
The controls handle perfectly...
You can get it for about £10
Good, but dated graphics.
Good variety of cars.
Plenty of unlockable stuff.
Strict time limits.
I brought this about two years ago for £15, and it got me hooked to the Burnout franchise.
It was simply the thrill of it that made me enjoy the game.
But as the series evolved, so did the gameplay, and now I hardly ever play on it like i frequenlty did back in early 2003, in fact i haven't touched it for quite a while now, but if you are looking for a solid, value-for-money racer, this is it.
Nice, especially on the cars, but slightly old hat. 7/10.
Good FX, but poor music. 6/10
Fast, but the occasional frustration. 8/10
Quite a long game, but you may...
Not many cars
Not very realistic
Thought that the crashes would be better
Burnout to me overall is a good game but there are a good amount of downers such as the fact that there are no real names to cars and you have all of 10 cars to pick from. The game isn't what it was origanally made out to be. The crashes could have and should have been better, thats not even compared to burnout 2. It has some fun tracks though and it is very fun to see how long you can go in oncoming traffic. Its also fun to see how expense of a crash you can do, or hit a gaurd rail at the wrong angle and fly over it. You have to be very careful while driving because the slightest nudge mak...
Fairly good control
You can save your best crashes
long and well-made tracks
Crashes can be annoying in the end
Limited number of cars
Graphics: Burnout is a really good-looking game, with smooth, shiny cars and nice tracks. Not quite the cream of the Gamecube crop in this category, though.
Sound: Loud sound-effects helps you get into the game, while the music is surprisingly good for a driving game.
Gameplay: The tracks here are long, with many places for a potentially fatal crash. Still, that is what makes it exciting, and you got a good shoot at avoiding them due decent control, although it is frustrating that the cpu-driver is always right behind you, no matter how well you drive. The number of cars is also not completel...
The game is fun that's for sure, the crashes are fun, The feeling of speed is very nice. The bad:
Crashes are fun but they get old fast... in MultiPlayer the frame rate drops alot... and there is only 2 views and the behind the car view isnt high enough to see over the car... and the from the car veiw doesnt show the steering wheel or anything its just like nuthing.Summary:
This game is very fun and the last 2 championships will keep u trying for a while... even if are bad at racing games this is simple enough to be good at, the level rush hour is hard so dont get intimidated... ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i need to have alteast 750 words in this review so im going to hummm....
