: : : Ulysses 31 - Vol.2

Story

This fantastic Japanese-French co-production was first broadcast in the 80's on Channel 4. The series is a modern retelling of Homer's 'The Odyssey', set in the 31st century.

Fresh from the battle of Troy, Ulysses journeys home to reunite with his wife, Penelope. En route, his son Telemechus is snatched by a mysterious vapour cloud and transported to the White Planet; there, children are sacrificed by the natives to their lord, The Cyclops. Whilst rescuing Telemachus, the Cyclops is destroyed, thus incurring the wrath of Poseidon, the monster's creator.

Zeus - the lord of the Gods - banishes Ulysses to the universe of Olympus, and sends his companions into a deep sleep. Only once he has found the Kingdom of Hades, can he free his crew and return to Earth to be reunited with Penelope once more.

Episode titles: Temple of the Lestrigones, The Seat of Forgetfulness, Trapped Between Fire and Ice, Phantoms From the Swamp, Song of Danger, Before the Flood, The Magic Spells of Circe, Lost in the Labyrinth, At the Heart of the Universe.
